With the advancement of China's oil reserve strategy,the scale of domestic storage tanks is expanding.At the same time,it also brings great challenges to the safety management of oil depots.Once a fire occurs,it will not only cause devastating damage to the tank itself,but also cause damage to the surrounding personnel and adjacent tanks.When the fire develops to a certain extent,it is very likely to detonate the adjacent storage tanks,resulting in "domino effect" to spread the fire.In serious cases,boiling will occur,causing immeasurable serious consequences.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the occurrence process of large tank fire,the variation law of surrounding thermal radiation intensity,the fire prevention distance between adjacent tanks and the safety distance of personnel in case of fire.The following researches are carried out for tank pool fire.Firstly,the theoretical calculation and numerical simulation methods of pool fire are introduced,and the empirical formula and numerical simulation software suitable for large crude oil tank are selected.This paper introduces the fire simulation software FDS,its visualization program smokeview and its supporting modeling software pyrosim,describes the basic principles involved in the operation process of FDS main program,and determines the specific process of applying FDS software to the numerical simulation of large storage tank fire.Secondly,the fire model is established in FDS software,and different types of crude oil tank pool fires are numerically simulated.The change rules of flame heat release rate,flame temperature,fire plume shape and the distribution of thermal radiation intensity in the process of tank pool fire are described.Based on the thermal radiation damage criterion,the safe distance of oil depot workers and fire fighters in the fire is determined.Then,the influence of tank pool fire on its adjacent tanks is studied.Through fire simulation,the distribution of thermal radiation intensity of the adjacent tank wall under different distances between tanks is obtained,and the damage interval of the tank wall is predicted.The safe distance between different types of tanks is determined.In the model,the spray cooling system is arranged for the adjacent tanks,The cooling effect of different cooling water intensity on tank wall was analyzed.Finally,the tank pool fire of a large oil depot in a specific scene is simulated,the safe distance of oil depot workers and firefighters in the fire is obtained,the damage interval of the adjacent tank wall is predicted,the spraying measures are applied to the adjacent tanks,the spraying cooling effect is analyzed,and the spraying water consumption under each cooling water intensity is calculated.
