Psychological stress can lead to the disturbance of human intestinal flora, increase the incidence of neurologic diseases, intestinal diseases, pregnancy complications and other adverse symptoms.Lycopene has the effect of improving the body’s oxidative stress inflammatory response and alleviating depressur-like behaviors. In this study, pregnant mice were selected as experimental subjects to establish a psychological stress model in the early stages of pregnancy with the help of restricted stress, and to explore the regulatory effect of lycopene on the intestinal antioxidant function and flora of mice,so as to provide theoretical basis for the alleviation of psychological stress. The main results are as follows:1.Lycopene reduced serum corticosterone content in restricted pregnant mice.Restricted stress increased the serum corticosterone content in pregnant mice, and the serum corticosterone content in pregnant mice decreased by 75.93% after 10 mg/(kg·bw·d)lycopene was given orally.2.Lycopene can alleviate the effect of restricted stress on the growth performance and organ index of pregnant mice.Restricted stress had negative effects on the growth performance and organ index of pregnant mice. After 10 mg/(kg·bw·d)lycopene was given orally, the weight loss of pregnant mice decreased by 42.80%,the average daily water intake decreased by 32.04%,the heart index decreased by 33.99%,the liver index increased by 83.33%,the spleen index increased by 68.83%,and the uterus and ovary index increased by 193.62%.3.Lycopene can inhibit the oxidative damage of pregnant mice intestinal tract by limiting stress.Restricted stress increased the levels of malondialdehyde in the duodenum, jejunum and ileum of pregnant mice, and decreased the total antioxidant capacity and levels of glutathione peroxidase and superoxide dismutase in the intestines of pregnant mice.Different doses of lycopene were administrated to the pregnant mice, and the related antioxidant indexes in the intestines of stressed pregnant mice were improved to different degrees.4.Lycopene can regulate the effect of limiting stress on the intestinal flora of pregnant mice.Restricted stress caused disorder of cecum flora in pregnant mice.After10 mg/(kg · bw · d)lycopene was given orally, harmful bacteria(Enterobacter,Clostridium perfringens)were decreased, while beneficial bacteria(Lactic acid bacteria,Lactobacillus,Bifidobacterium)were increased in the cecum of stressed pregnant mice. And it significantly changes the number of bacteria of Angelakisella massiliensis,Bacteroides vulgatus,Bacteroides ovatus,Bacteroides uniformis, and Pseudomonas mandelii in the caecum of pregnant mice under restricted stress. They are related to antioxidant,anti-inflammatory,antibacterial,anti-cancer and intestinal oxidative stress. In summary, lycopene can improve the antioxidant function and flora structure in the intestinal tract of pregnant mice, among which 10 mg/(kg·bw·d)lycopene has the best effect on relieving the stress of pregnant mice.It provide new ideas and research foundation for the development of anti-stress functional foods.
