This thesis studies the adjustment of the US energy policy under Trump administration, the contributing factors of the adjustment and the consequences of the policy. The adjustment can be summarized into policy deregulation, infrastructure construction support, tax credit and financial support to traditional energy other than renewable energy as well as the encouragement to traditional energy export. This thesis finds that interest group of traditional energy stimulated the policy adjustment with capital contribution to Trump administration. They also fostered interest representation in the government and lobbied the Congress to trigger the adjustment.Meanwhile, political party also had its hands in the adjustment,as republicans and democrats always have different political preferences.Generally, republicans, being conservative, are more favorable to traditional energy. In the short term, the energy policy under Trump administration greatly increased the US traditional energy output, created domestic jobs, promoted the US' energy export and expanded the US influence in international energy market. At the same time,it reduced US' dependence on foreign oil and therefore weakened the power of OPEC,Russia and Middle East countries. Moreover,it triggered international competition in energy price, exacerbating the oversupply of oil and natural gas.It also caused environment deterioration in the US.
