With the development of internet technology,it has a wide application prospect to show and operate mechanical product assembly models on Web pages.The emerging WebGL technology and HTML5 technology provide technical supports for operating and displaying 3D models in the browser.In order to carry out more in-depth application of complex mechanical products containing many parts,it is necessary to show the assembly model of the product.Therefore,the virtual assembly show of complex mechanical products based on WebGL technology has important research significance and application valueThe virtual show of mechanical products requires a complete assembly model,and most mechanical products include very complex geometric models and assembly constraints,so it is necessary to create assembly model of the mechanical product through CAD modeling software.However,different modeling software products use their own model storage formats,generally providing lower-level boundary geometry information,so it is necessary to reconstruct the assembly model from geometric model files.First,on loading the 3D assembly model of mechanical products in the STL format from the server through the Three.js framework in WebGL;Secondly,the topological structure of the STL triangular mesh model is reconstructed based on the half-edge data structure,then realizing neighborhood search and geometric operations on triangle faces.Subsequently,based on the reconstructed topological relationship,and according to the geometric position and posture of the part,assembly constraint relationships are automatically recognized,so that the assembly constraint relationships of the mechanical product are reconstructed,thereby completing the reconstruction of the assembly model.In addition,in order to facilitate the search and analysis of the internal structure and spatial position relationship of the components that make up the assembly model of the mechanical product in the browser,the navigation of the product assembly parts is provided and the assembly exploded diagrams based on assembly constraint relations is automatically generated,thereby completing the virtual assembly show of complex mechanical on the browser.Finally,the demonstration experiment of a first stage reducer achieved the virtual assembly show of the reducer,and verified the feasibility of the method.The presented method shows that a powerful virtual show platform of assembly models can be constructed based on WebGL technology,and users can browse and operate the digital model of product assemblies without installing plug-ins in the browser.
