Eucommia ulmoides Oliver is a tertiary relic species.It contains not only a variety of precious medicinal active components,but also contains a natural biopolymer Eucommia ulmoides rubber(EUR).Recently,EUR as a new potential polymer material has attracted increasing attention.However,EUR has not been studied in the field of UV shielding.In order to fully excavate the potential application of EUR in the field of UV shielding,and to realize the high added value of EUR.In this research,EUR was prepared by the pretreatment of dilute alkali,organic solvent extraction,low temperature cryopreservation and decolorization of organic solvent.Subsequently,based on the EUR matrix,a series of UV-blocking nanocomposite materials were fabricated by adding filler additives such as nano-fullerene C60 and zinc oxide(Zn O)under the ultrasonic assisted treatment.Besides,the properties of nanocomposite films were studied,such as the surface morphology,chemical composition,crystallization,UV-blocking performance,thermal stability,mechanical properties,wetting properties and water vapor permeability etc.The effects of the addition of nano-particles(C60 and Zn O)on the properties of the nanocomposite materials were discussed,and the application of fullerene C60/EUR nanocomposite films for the control of wheat scab in agriculture was explored.The results are as follow:1.Based on the weight of EUR matrix,a series of fullerene C60/EUR nanocomposite films were successfully prepared by adding different amounts of fullerene C60(0,0.5 wt%,1.0 wt%,1.5 wt%,2.0 wt%)into EUR matrix.The incorporation of fullerene C60effectively enhanced the surface roughness,crystallinity,melting properties and mechanical properties of C60/EUR nanocomposite films,especially the elongation at break of 2.0%fullerene C60/EUR nanocomposite films increased to 508.6%,which was 3.5 times that of pure EUR films.However,the introduction of nano-Zn O effectively reduced the hydrophobic values of nanocomposite films,which made the water contact angle values of composite films reduced from 93.8°to 64.6°.In addition,the addition of fullerene C60could endow nanocomposite films excellent UV-blocking performance,and 100%of the UV spectrum was shielded in UV region.Interestingly,it was found that the inhibition of F.graminraeum by UV-blocking using C60/EUR nanocomposite films.The 2.0%fullerene C60/EUR composite film can effectively prolong the onset time of wheat scab by 100%to10 days,providing a scientific basis for the prevention of wheat scab of EUR in agriculture.Based on the weight of EUR matrix,a series of Zn O/EUR nanocomposite films were successfully prepared by adding different amounts of nano-Zn O particles(0,5 wt%,10wt%,15 wt%,20 wt%)into EUR matrix.The addition of nano-Zn O particles effectively enhanced the melting properties,thermal-stability and UV-blocking performance of Zn O/EUR nanocomposite films,and 100%of the UV spectrum was shielded in UV region.While the introduction of nano-Zn O effectively inhibited the formation of?-form crystal structure and reduced the crystallinity of the EUR from 36.4%to 13.4%.,and reduced the hydrophobic value of nanocomposite films,which has a potential application in the field of UV shielding.
