Pure cotton fabrics have always attracted consumers'attention in the clothing industry due to their advantages,such as moisture absorption,breathability,soft feel,comfortable wearing,and biodegradability.However,cotton fabrics also have serious defects,for example,easy deformation.Therefore,it is difficult to care and needs to be ironed after washing.These defects affect the performance of cotton fabrics and apparels,thus,cause a lot of troubles to people's life.In order to make the cotton fabrics smooth and easy to care after washing,the manufacturer will carry out anti-wrinkle finishing.In the finishing process,the physical and mechanical properties of the fabrics have been changed significantly.The wrinkle recovery angle increases and the strength of the fabrics decreases,which greatly affects the durability of the fabrics.Therefore,it is very important to achieve a high strength retention rate while improving the anti-wrinkle finishing effect.The existing anti-wrinkle finishing mainly adopts conventional baking and delayed cure.In the delayed cure finishing process,it is likely to occur pre-crosslinking when the fabrics are stored and transported.The sensitized fabrics are unstable,which can easily cause uneven appearance on fabric surface and affect the effect of anti-wrinkle finishing.Therefore,it is particularly important to improve the stability of the sensitized fabrics.In order to solve the above-mentioned problems,this work aims at improving the conventional baking and delayed cure processes to obtain a better anti-wrinkle performance and higher strength retention rate of fabrics after different anti-wrinkle finishing simultaneously.Therefore,this work mainly investigates on the anti-wrinkle finishing process from the following three aspects:First of all,under the conventional baking finishing,environmentally friendly waterborne polyurethanes(WPU) and etherified 2D resin(M2D) are formulated for finishing.It can greatly improve the anti-wrinkle effect of the finished cotton fabric.Eight kinds of waterborne polyurethanes widely used in the market are combined with etherified 2D resin and conventional catalytic system with magnesium chloride(MgCl2) to form finishing solutions.Then cotton fabrics are finished by conventional baking with the obtained finishing solutions.The anti-wrinkle effects of different formulated finishing solutions are compared.In conventional baking,WPU(3458) and WPU(7360)show good compatibility with M2D,respectively.These formulated finishing solutions can significantly increase the wrinkle recovery angle and strength retention rate of fabrics.Meanwhile,the whiteness of fabrics after finishing does not change significantly.Moreover,the addition of WPU can also slightly improve the softness and smoothness of fabrics.The formulated finishing solution includes M2D 100 g/L,WPU(3458)40 g/L,MgCl2 30 g/L and penetrant JFC 1 g/L.Under the baking conditions of 150? and 3min,the wrinkle recovery angle of the cotton fabrics can reach275.00° and the strength retention rate is 55.05% after finishing with the above-mentioned finishing formula,increased by 14.11% and 12.35%compared with fabrics with the pure resin finishing respectively.By analyzing the influence of the strength protective agent on the anti-wrinkle effect of cotton fabrics,it is found that the anti-wrinkle effect is better,when the addition of strength protective agent reaches 35g/L.Under the circumstances,the wrinkle recovery angle can reach 271.50°and the strong retention rate is 65.12%.Secondly,under the delayed cure finishing,WPU and M2D are used for anti-wrinkle finishing.And it can greatly improve the anti-wrinkle effect of the finished cotton fabrics as well as the storage stability of the sensitized fabrics.The above-mentioned eight waterborne polyurethanes and etherified 2D resins as well as the delayed catalytic system independently developed by our research group,i.e.diethylenediamine-magnesium chloride(DABCO-MgCl2),are composed of finishing solutions.These cotton fabrics are finished by delayed cure with the formulated solutions.The anti-wrinkle effects of different formulated finishing solutions are compared.In the delayed cure finishing,WPU(3458),WPU(7360)and WPU(PSF)have good compatibility with M2D,respectively.These formulated finishing can significantly improve the anti-wrinkle effect of fabrics and the storage stability of sensitized fabrics,and the whiteness of the fabric after finishing does not change significantly.At the same time,the addition of WPU can also slightly improve the softness and smoothness of the fabrics.The formulated finishing solution includes M2D 100 g/L,WPU(3458)40 g/L,MgCl2 0.296 mol/L,DABCO 0.0282 mol/L and JFC 1 g/L.Under the baking conditions of 160?and 3min,the wrinkle recovery angle of the cotton fabric can reach 262.00°and the strength retention rate is69.51%after finishing with the above-mentioned finishing liquid,increased by 12.09%and14.00%compared with the fabrics with pure resin finishing.The sensitized fabrics after finishing by M2D/MgCl2 and M2D-WPU(PSF/3458/7360)/DABCO-MgCl2were tested for storage stability,respectively.After being stored at 80°C for 120h,the wrinkle recovery angle of M2D/MgCl2 is 237.25°.The wrinkle recovery angles of M2D-WPU(PSF),M2D-WPU(3458)and M2D-WPU(7360)are reduced to 174.75°,176.00° and 193.00°,respectively.This proves that M2D-WPU/DABCO-MgCl2 can significantly improve the storage stability of the sensitized fabric in the delayed cure finishing.Finally,the effect of different pretreatments on the anti-wrinkle effect of cotton fabrics is studied.Five cotton fabrics with the same specifications and different pretreating processes are selected for anti-wrinkle finishing.Among them,the pretreating methods of cotton fabrics include:bleaching;bleaching-liquid ammonia;bleaching-mercerizing;bleaching-mercerizing-liquid ammonia;bleaching-liquid ammonia-mercerizing.The above-mentioned cotton fabrics are respectively subjected to M2D-WPU(3458) conventional baking and M2D-WPU(3458) delayed cure finishing.The fabric properties before and after finishing are analyzed.The results show that the pretreatment combined with anti-wrinkle finishing process can help improve the physical and mechanical properties of the cotton fabrics.The wrinkle recovery angle of the fabrics after treatment is above 262.00°,and the strength of the fabrics is less damaged.There is no obvious change in the whiteness of the fabric after finishing.The anti-wrinkle finishing can significantly reduce the difference in hand feel caused by pretreatments.The comprehensive properties of the fabrics after the finishing of"mercerizing-liquid ammonia-anti-wrinkle finishing"are better.In conventional baking,the wrinkle recovery angle can reach 279.75°,and the strength retention rate is 75.08%;In delayed cure,the recovery angle can reach 269.00°,and the strong retention rate is 85.19%.
