Due to its advantages,the diamond grinding wheel has become a grinding tool for hard and brittle materials such as stone,ceramics,and cemented carbide.With the diversification of product requirements,the application of curved products is also increasing.Grinding with curved grinding wheels is the main method to obtain curved products.Previous studies have shown that the orderly arrangement of abrasive grains is an effective method for diamond grinding wheels to increase service life,reduce production costs,and improve processing quality.However,the current curved grinding wheel is still dominated by the disordered arrangement of abrasive grains,resulting in poor processing quality,low grinding wheel life,and insufficient performance of the curved grinding wheel.Aiming at the problem of abrasive grain arrangement of curved grinding wheels,this paper proposes a design method for the orderly arrangement of abrasive grains on the surface of curved grinding wheels;developed a set of mechanism for the arrangement of abrasive grains on the surface of curved grinding wheels;prepared the arrangement of abrasive grains.The curved surface grinding wheel and the disordered surface grinding wheel;and through the grinding experiment,the comparative experiment research is carried out from the grinding force,the grinding wheel wear and the processing quality of the workpiece.The research results of this article are as follows:(1)An abrasive grain arranging machine was independently developed.The equipment is composed of three main components: an automatic feeding device,a visual processing device and a mechanical arm system.The repeated positioning accuracy and position accuracy of the abrasive grain arrangement machine are tested.The test results are that the repeated positioning accuracy is ±12?m,the position accuracy is ±120?m on the X axis,and ±80?m on the Y axis,which can meet the orderly arrangement of abrasive grains on the surface of the curved grinding wheel.Requirements for the use of cloth.(2)The design idea of planning the circumferential spacing of abrasive grains from the maximum undeformed chip thickness,and planning the axial spacing of abrasive grains from the perspective of brittle material indentation mechanics;deduced that it is suitable for curved surface abrasive grains.The calculation formula of the cloth;design and prepare a curved diamond grinding wheel with orderly arranged abrasive grains.The actual maximum undeformed chip thickness of the abrasive particles of the prepared grinding wheel is more consistent with the theoretical design value.(3)Comparing the grinding force of the grinding wheel with ordered and disordered arrangement of abrasive grains,the change of the process parameters can be known.The grinding force of an ordered surface grinding wheel is less than that of a disordered surface grinding wheel;as the linear speed of the grinding wheel increases,the grinding force of the curved surface grinding wheel decreases;as the workpiece feed speed and grinding depth increase,the grinding force of the grinding wheel increases;The linear speed of the grinding wheel has the greatest influence on the grinding force Fx,and the grinding depth has the greatest influence on the grinding force Fz.The influence of process parameters on grinding force is basically similar to that of flat grinding wheels.(4)Wheel wear experiments show that the grinding force of the ordered surface grinding wheel during the entire wear process is slightly less than that of the disordered surface grinding wheel;the uniformity of abrasive wear of the ordered surface grinding wheel is stronger than that of the disordered surface grinding wheel;the orderly curved surface grinding wheel is processed The shape accuracy of the workpiece is also better than the disordered surface grinding wheel.The experimental results in this paper show that the orderly design and arrangement of abrasive grains on the surface of the curved grinding wheel can effectively improve the performance of the curved grinding wheel,which will provide a theoretical and practical basis for the efficient precision machining of the curved grinding wheel.
