Manufacturing is the main source of energy consumption and carbon emission production.Under the background requirements of "carbon neutrality" and "carbon peaking",the research on energy conservation and emission reduction of processing methods for the manufacturing industry is the key to the realization of "double carbon" in the manufacturing industry.important way of planning.WEDM relies on spark discharge to cut workpieces,and is widely used in molds and difficult-to-machine materials.Emission research is insufficient,so in order to achieve the sustainable development of WEDM,it is necessary to further study the energy consumption and carbon emissions of the processing process.In this paper,from the perspective of WEDM machining parameters,considering the workpiece geometry,auxiliary consumables,electrical parameters and other factors,the energy consumption model of the machining process is constructed.Modeling of carbon emissions from processing.Based on the above model,a monitoring system for the carbon emission status of WEDM process was developed to realize the sustainability of WEDM process.The main research contents include:1)The factors affecting the energy consumption of WEDM are analyzed and the energy consumption model of the machining process is constructed.Through experimental research,the influencing factors of energy consumption in the machining process are analyzed from the perspectives of geometric structure,auxiliary consumables,and electrical parameters,and the equivalent machining length is established according to the machining length and workpiece chamfering parameters.The energy consumption model of WEDM under the influence of workpiece thickness characteristics,multi-layer stacking characteristics,auxiliary consumables and electrical parameters characteristics,and a case study is carried out.2)The objects affected by carbon emission in the WEDM process were studied,and the carbon emission model of the machining process was established.On the basis of the energy consumption model,the material consumption,energy consumption and undesired emission in the WEDM process were carried out from the perspective of input and output objects in the process;Three types of carbon emission models.3)Taking a certain type of WEDM as an example,the application of the established energy consumption and carbon emission model is studied.From the experiment,it is found that the accuracy of the predicted energy consumption in a single process is more than 92% compared with the actual energy consumption,and the total accuracy of each process reaches98.06%.Consumption prediction is more accurate.Finally,on the basis of the proposed theoretical model,a set of carbon emission monitoring system for EDM process is developed for a certain type of WEDM as an example.Analyze the requirements of the monitoring system,establish the overall framework of the system,and realize the functions of processing state monitoring,processing energy consumption and carbon emission prediction,and processing parameter control.The practical application of this system shows that compared with the traditional method,the energy consumption is reduced by 11.5% and the carbon emission is reduced by 5.7%.Process status monitoring and adjustment of processing parameters.
