The rapid social and economic development has caused China’s traffic safety issues to become increasingly prominent.Because of terrible geographical and environmental constraints in mountain cities and towns, and roadsides often have high and steep slopes and geological disaster points, and there be some shortcomings and hidden dangers in the transportation infrastructure of mountain roads. Therefore, traffic accidents often occur on mountain roads and highways, the personal safety of road users is difficult to guarantee, and the bad social impact caused. So as to improve the standard of traffic safety management of a county in a mountainous area, the influencing factors of road traffic safety in mountainous cities and towns were analyzed and a safety risk assessment was performed on the main roads in a county. The factors affecting the safety of roads in mountainous cities and towns are various. This article analyzes the current situation of road traffic in China through a large number of literature readings and field investigations in a county in a mountainous region. After obtaining relevant data on road traffic in a county, the current situation of local traffic safety analyzed.Based on investigation and literature study, this paper analyzes and analyzes many factors affecting the safety risks of traffic sections in a county in a mountainous area.Summary and comparison of traffic safety evaluation methods Combined with the actual situation of a certain place investigation, the indicators of traffic safety evaluation were determined as the four accident absolute value indicators, namely the number of accidents, the number of deaths, the number of injuries, and economic losses.Calculate the weight of each risk index based on the analytic hierarchy process, and use the theory of gray correlation degree to calculate the risk correlation degree of the 27 main roads and county roads in the county, and provide a basis for rating the risk of road risks in a county in the mountainous area. The data obtained from the field investigation support the ranking of the safety levels of various roads in a county in the mountainous area of Fujian, and finally make recommendations for the traffic safety management and control of the entire county.
