The Impact Of Environmental Social Organizations Governance On The Green Transformation Of Manufacturing Enterprises

Serious environmental pollution restricts the sustainable development of China’s economy.How to effectively control pollution is an important problem to be solved.There is no doubt that the formal environmental regulation policy plays an important role in environmental governance.With the continuous development of the concept of environmental co governance,the informal environmental regulation represented by Environmental Protection Social Organizations has gradually played a positive role.As the pillar industry of China’s economic development,manufacturing industry has made great contribution to economic development,but it is also the main source of various pollutants emissions.As the most basic production unit,whether manufacturing enterprises can promote their green transformation is related to the long-term development of China’s economy.Based on this,in the context of the current pattern of environmental co governance,this paper will explore the impact of Environmental Protection Social Organizations participating in environmental governance on the green transformation of manufacturing enterprises.This paper first analyzes the mechanism of Environmental Protection Social Organizations’ participation in environmental governance affecting the green transformation of enterprises through theoretical analysis and model construction and points out that the participation of Environmental Protection Social Organizations’ participation will increase the legitimacy pressure of enterprises,forcing them to choose green transformation.Secondly,this paper takes the report of pollution source regulatory information disclosure index published by Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs(IPE)for some cities in China as a‘Quasi-natural experiment’ of Environmental Protection Social Organizations’ participating in environmental governance,this paper empirically analyzes the impact of Environmental Protection Social Organizations’ governance on the green transformation of manufacturing enterprises by using the double difference method.Finally,the following conclusions are drawn:First,Environmental Protection Social Organizations’ governance will help to promote the green transformation of manufacturing enterprises.Second,Environmental Protection Social Organizations’ mainly participate in environmental governance by transmitting environmental information to the outside.Therefore,the higher the degree of regional information development and the higher the quality of the population in the region will be more conducive to the promotion of Environmental Protection Social Organizations’ governance on the green transformation of enterprises.In addition,Environmental Protection Social Organizations’ can play a powerful complementary role in the government’s environmental governance,alleviate the principal-agent problem in environmental governance,and promote local governments to increase governance efforts,thus affecting the green transformation of enterprises.Third,the participation of Environmental Protection Social Organizations’ in governance has significantly improved the government’s environmental regulation,but the effect of improving public awareness and guiding the public to participate in environmental governance is not obvious.Therefore,Environmental Protection Social Organizations’ should actively improve their social credibility,so as to better to promote public participation in environmental governance.Finally,based on the research conclusions,this paper puts forward the following policy suggestions: Promote the development of Environmental Protection Social Organizations’ in China,give full play to their positive advantages in governance;Strengthen the environmental management of government departments,and timely disclose environmental related information;Encourage enterprises to carry out green transformation spontaneously and produce products with better environmental quality;Strengthen the establishment of public awareness of environmental protection and enhance the enthusiasm of public participation in environmental governance.So as to build a pattern of environmental governance in which multiple subjects participate.
