The Chinese patent medicine industry is a new type of industry that combines modern technology and traditional Chinese medicine production.It has a rapid development momentum.At the same time,the problem of difficult treatment of production wastewater has gradually attracted people’s attention.This study aims at the efficient removal of organic compounds and pigments in the waste water of proprietary Chinese medicines.Aiming at the problem of substandard discharge caused by the poor stability of the sewage treatment process caused by the large fluctuations in the water quality of the production waste water and poor biodegradability,A physicochemicalbiochemical combined treatment process of "coagulation pretreatment-anaerobic hydrolysis-SBR(sequence batch bioreactor)-ozone flotation" was constructed,and the principle of the combined process on the stability of the biological treatment system was proved.The research results have certain theoretical significance and practical engineering guidance value for the efficient and stable treatment of Chinese patent medicine wastewater.In this paper,the waste water pollutants of proprietary Chinese medicines are removed step by step through a combined phytochemical-biological process,the influence of operating parameters of each unit on the efficiency of processing proprietary Chinese medicines is studied,and the best operating conditions of each unit are determined.The results show that the best coagulant and dosage of coagulation pretreatment is 800mg/L PAC(polyaluminum chloride),and the removal rate of COD and SS in wastewater can reach 30.28% and 67.78%;The HRT of the anaerobic hydrolysis reactor is 24 h,and the biodegradability of the effluent is significantly improved;The SBR reactor’s first anoxic and then aerobic environment is better than aerobic and then anoxic for the removal of nitrogen and phosphorus from wastewater.The effective removal of fulvic acid-like pollutants in the wastewater reduces the load of the advanced ozone flotation treatment unit;The removal rate of COD and chromaticity pollutants by the ozone unit in 10 minutes can reach more than 60%.The optimal process parameters were used to further combine the phytochemicalbiological process to treat wastewater.According to the effluent water quality index,the feasibility of the process to treat wastewater was evaluated,and the distribution of bioreactor sludge microbial community was studied.The results show that the coagulation pretreatment process can effectively remove macromolecular organics and some chromatic substances in the water,reducing the subsequent biochemical treatment load;The anaerobic hydrolysis unit can effectively improve the biodegradability of pollutants,stabilize and uniformly treat water quality,and facilitate the formation of stable biological flora in the subsequent aerobic system;The ozone air flotation terminal treatment unit provides water quality guarantee for the efficient removal of tail water chromaticity and refractory biodegradable pollutants.Under the best operating conditions,The combined process can stabilize the average removal rate of COD,NH3-N(ammonia nitrogen),TP(total phosphorus),TN(total nitrogen),SS,and chroma at 90.24%,93.94%,87.93%,92.62%,97.71%,and 92.70%.Anaerobic hydrolysis and SBR activated sludge form dominant bacteria in Blastocatellaceae and Competibacter,respectively.
