Study On Manufacturing Technology Of White Porcelain In Cifeng Kiln

Cifeng kiln is the only kiln in Sichuan basin that mainly produces white porcelain.It has written a unique chapter in the development history of ancient Sichuan ceramics and is of great significance to the study of the history of Sichuan ceramics.Starting with the research on the production process of white porcelain in Cifeng kiln,this paper comprehensively summarizes and combs its porcelain production process,from which we can see the development and evolution process of Cifeng kiln.During the Tang and Song Dynasties,the ceramic industry in Sichuan Basin was very developed,and the porcelain making process was also famous in China.At this time,the production of white porcelain in Cifeng kiln reached its peak.This paper briefly describes the general situation of the discovery of Cifeng kiln site.Through the analysis of the workshop relics,production tools,kilns and kiln furniture found at present,this paper systematically combs the molding technology,decoration methods and charging and burning technology of the three main historical periods from the middle to the late Northern Song Dynasty,the late Northern Song Dynasty to the early Southern Song Dynasty and the late Southern Song Dynasty.Thus,the overall technical characteristics and origin of Cifeng kiln porcelain making process are clarified.The origin of ancient porcelain making technology in Sichuan Basin is quite complex,which can be basically divided into two systems.One is the southern porcelain making system in the Tang and Five Dynasties,which mainly produced celadon and is closely related to the kilns in Hunan and Zhejiang;The other is the northern porcelain making system,which began in the middle and late Northern Song Dynasty.From kiln furniture,kilns to ceramic products,it is related to Yaozhou Kiln,Ding kiln and other northern kilns.Due to this extensive exchange,the porcelain making technology of Cifeng kiln in the Tang and Song Dynasties is still relatively advanced nationwide,and is at the forefront of Technological Development in some aspects.For example,the continuous improvement of loading and firing methods,from overhead firing to overburning,from no box to box,from support nail to cushion,etc;With the continuous increase of decoration techniques,such as engraving,printing and color painting,the development of these technologies has played a good role in promoting the prosperity of ancient ceramic industry in Sichuan.Since modern times,the production process of white porcelain in Cifeng kiln has not been much different from that in the past.Due to the influence of war,economic recession,cultural transformation and other factors,the overall production level of white porcelain in Cifeng kiln shows a declining trend.In the contemporary era,the continuous emergence of new technologies and materials is slowly changing people’s way of life.Traditional handmade products such as Cifeng kiln have been difficult to integrate into people’s life in large quantities.Although the government gives strong support,there are few young people engaged in this industry.Therefore,under the background of building a socialist cultural power and realizing the great rejuvenation of Chinese culture,it is of certain significance to the rejuvenation of Cifeng kiln by combing the historical development of Cifeng kiln,learning from the excellent experience of the previous peak period,and using history as a mirror to continue the traditional skills and cultural inheritance.
