Abstract/Summary:
Objective:To analyze the effect of short-term exposure to six outdoor air pollutants(PM2.5,PM10,SO2,NO2,CO,O3)on blood routine indexes of hospital staff in a tertiary general hospital from 2012 to 2019 in Bengbu City.Methods:1.Research Objects:Medical examination files of hospital staff in a tertiary general hospital in Bengbu city from 2012 to 2019 were collected.The interval of each physical examination was about one year,and the years of physical examination were 2012,2013,2014,2016,2017 and 2019.The study was reviewed and approved by the hospital ethics Committee,and the subjects had informed consent.2.Baseline data:It mainly includes some basic demographic data and addresses of hospital staff.This study strictly ensures that each research subject can find their corresponding address on the map.3.Pollutant data:The air pollution data in this experiment comes from the satellite-based inversion model established by WEI et al(https://weijing-rs.github.io/product.html)which will be the object of study of address by GIS system of the latitude and longitude,thus,accurate exposure concentrations of 6 kinds of surface air pollution in the study area can be obtained.The PM2.5 data can be traced back to the year 2000,and the PM10,SO2,NO2,CO,and O3 can be traced back to the year 2013.4.Correlation analysis between air pollutant exposure and blood routine indexes:Multiple linear regression was used to study the correlation between air pollution exposure and blood routine examination indexes of hospital staff in Bengbu city.The independent variable was the annual exposure concentration of 6 kinds of air pollutants,and the main model covariable was 5risk factors including gender,age,occupation,Walk score and Road density.All data were statistically analyzed using SPSS 25.0 software,and the test levelɑwas 0.05.Results:PM2.5,PM10,SO2 and CO exposure were negatively correlated with white blood cells,red blood cell,hemoglobin,lymphocyte,neutrophil,eosinophilic,monocyte while NO2 and O3exposure were positively correlated with blood cells,red blood cell,hemoglobin,lymphocyte,neutrophil,eosinophilic,monocyte,PM2.5,PM10,SO2 and CO is positively correlated with basophil;exposure to NO2 and O3 is negatively correlated with basophil.Conclusions:Air pollution exposure can cause changes in blood routine examination indexes.PM2.5,PM10,SO2 and CO exposure are related to the decrease of white blood cells,red blood cells,hemoglobin,lymphocytes,neutrophils,eosinophils and monocytes,and the increase of basophils.NO2,O3 exposure is associated with the increase of white blood cells,red blood cells,hemoglobin,lymphocytes,neutrophils,eosinophils,monocytes,and the decrease of basophils.
