The economy and construction industry has a rapid development in cold region of China, which contributes the severe building energy situation in the area. Especially energy consumption of campus building has accounted for an important proportion in total energy consumption. Energy consumption of Campus mainly comes from a large number of existing buildings on campus, which is lack of consideration for the design of energy-saving. In the stage of design, simulating building consumption on campus is conducive to understand the overall energy situation of buildings, problems of building energy can be found, and then providing effective energy-saving methods reduce energy consumption and create green energy-saving campus.Through collating and checking literature and standards, analyzes the research status of building energy and campus energy-saving at home and abroad. Because Tangshan belongs to the cold region, the basic information of Hebei United University in Tangshan was collected. The situation, variation, characteristics and problems of energy consumption are analyzed, which belong to college existing buildings of cold regions. By introducing the simulation software, eQuest was selected as the tool of energy simulation.Selecting representative Yifu library as building mode, its annual energy consumption was simulated with eQeust and its changes were analyzed, which was compared with the actual power consumption to verify the accuracy of energy simulation.Based on testing Intensity of illumination, noise and formaldehyde were conducted to analyze whether these meet design standard for energy. And on the premise of meet the design requirements, by changing maintenance structure, air conditioning and lighting systems, power consumption situation was calculated and energy saving effect was analyzed according to the trend.
