The advance of nuclear power is one of the main directions of energy development in China, the government of Fujian Province plans to construct and put into operation two nuclear power plants in the Ningde and Fuqing respective, including 6 sets of million kilowatt installed capacity of nuclear power within the "Twelfth Five Year Plan" period,in order to satisfy the requirement of the rapid growth of electricity demand. From the standpoint of safty operating, the nuclear power units will not participate in power peaking, with full load operation mode.Along with the nuclear power production in succession, the increasing proportion of nuclear power units in the power system to Fujian electric power market will cause some series result, such as increased power peaking pressure, misuse of power utilization hours and produce surplus electricity and so on.Therefore,it has important theoretical and practical significance to analyze the impact and mention the corresponding countermeasures of Fujian nuclear power development on the current electricity market.Firstly, this paper defines the related concepts basing on the review of domestic and foreign related literature, such as nuclear power plant, electric power market, and so on.Subsequently, introduces the present situation of Fujian nuclear power construction and its economic and social benefits, and analyzes the influence of Fujian nuclear power development on the current electricity market. Then, this article expounds the feasibility and necessity of the government guidance in the area of Fujian nuclear power development. Finally, putting forward the countermeasures and suggestions of strengthening the government’s guidance to the noraml development of Fujian electric power market.
