With the rapid development of China’s transportation construction,the future needs to build a large number of Large-Bridges across river and lakes.In order to meet the requirements of waterways,resource development,etc.,most of bridge foundation are designed for low pile cap deep water foundation.Currently,deep water foundation construction are summarized as follows:Open Caisson,Reinforced Concrete Cofferdam,Double-Wall Steel Boxed Cofferdam(Hereinafter referred to as DWSBC),Steel Suspension Boxed Cofferdam,Steel Sheet Pile Cofferdam(Hereinafter referred to as SSPC),Steel Pipe Cofferdam and Steel Boxed Cofferdam etc.Cofferdam as during the construction of the deep foundation retaining soil,sealing structure,security and reliability issues is the first engineering and technical personnel to solve the high risk problem.If cofferdam security accident not only delay the construction period,it will result in irreparable loss of life and property.Currently,engineering fields use DWSBC and SSPC construction.DWSBC construction process is more complex,but its construction is better security and reliability;in contrast SSPC construction process is simple,and its economic benefits is obvious.Therefore,the SSPC is gradually replacing the DWSBC in deep water foundation construction.But because of its poor security and reliability,we studied the main factors that affect its safety and the security measures of the whole process of construction.This paper focus on the steps and processes of SSPC construction,at the same time according to its construction steps and processes research its overall stability and structural reliability.In this project,the construction method of the SSPC is changed from the traditional method(first steel sheet pile construction,after the installation of the inner support)to the new method(first the installation of the inner support,after the steel sheet pile construction),we analyzed its stability and overall stability using Finite Element Method in the cofferdam design process,through summarized common major problems during the construction process,and targeted to be improved and taken precautionary measures such as monitoring and control,to further validate the correctness and reliability of the safety design,construction and process steps,to overcame the High-risk vulnerabilities of the traditional construction methods of SSPC,provides a systems theory for the SSPC instead of the DWSBC.
