Steel sheet pile walls are used for constructing retaining walls in excavation ofcofferdam. There are lots of peculiarities in using steel sheet piles such as high bendingstrength, faster construction speed, perfect water resistance effect, various combination,can be repeatable using and be fast constructed with a low cost etc. Recently, steelsheet piles are more and more used in sham foundation engineering.The construction process of steel sheet pile cofferdam generally adopt pumping alayer of water before plus a brace, and then pumping to the end step by step, we callthis “traditional construction process”. Although this process guarantee that eachsupport can be the top tight steel sheet pile, however the steel sheet pile has a lot ofdeformation before setting each support. The displacement and bending moment of thesteel sheet pile accumulated very large when pumping to the end, this detrimental tothe safety and cost control of the cofferdam. The improved process welding the fivesupport frame system before inserting the steel sheet pile, has great advantage incontrol of deformation and internal force of steel sheet pile. At present, the research forthe improved process of construction engineering just rest on construction descriptionand summary, don’t have in-depth analysis on deformation, force characteristics andthe superiority.Analysis of the deformation and stress characteristics of steel sheet pile cofferdamunder the improvement process with dimensional finite element èsummary of eachpumping stage curve property. The small difference between calculated results and thefield test results Verify the rationalit y of calculation method and the rationalit y of theselected parameters.Building three-dimensional finite element model of the different constructionprocesses separately, and then analysis the deformation of the steel sheet pile and theinternal force distribution law in the different processes, and then summed thedominant of improved construction process in the control of the project safety,schedule, construction cost. At the same time, adjusted support spacing on the basis ofthe engineering original design proposal, and then compared the finite element analysis results of the original program, studied the role of overall coordination of steel sheetpile cofferdam under this process.Processes mixed construction process and build finite element model, analysis avariety of the mixed construction methods’ displacement and bending moment size anddistribution law. The results show that the mixed process has more dominant than thetraditional and improved process.
