China is an earthquake-prone country.According to incomplete statistics,more than 20 earthquakes occur every year in China’s mainland.Although our economy has developed rapidly in recent years,seismic isolation and damping technologies are becoming more and more mature,but these technologies are often expensive and often used in tall or domestic important buildings,low-rise masonry structure buildings of these techniques in rural areas are rare.Village regions tend to become major disaster areas after earthquakes,which is mainly due to the dense population of rural areas,the low residents’ economic conditions and the education level and the weak awareness of the seismic fortification consciousness of the housing.All previous earthquakes have seriously threatened the life and property of the rural residents.Therefore,it is urgent to seek for a low-cost and suitable isolation and damping technology of low-rise masonry structures in villages.In this paper,a sliding isolation technology of the built-in sliding limit displacement box,which is applied to the low-rise masonry structure building in high intensity area,is proposed.The technology mainly divides the basic ring beam into two parts,and there is the sliding isolation layer between the upper and lower ring beam,as well as the sliding limit displacement box as isolation component in the middle of the upper and lower ring beams.This technology can not only improve the seismic performance of low-rise masonry structures in villages,also satisfy residents’ housing demand for simple construction and low cost.The basic sliding isolation technologies of the built-in sliding limit displacement box were mainly carried on the compressive test of the mortar cube strength,the shear test of sliding limit displacement box and the quasi-static test,the main research work and conclusions are the following points:1.Aiming at the material composition of the external fragile shear box of the sliding limit displacement box,the cube compression test was carried out to find out the reasonable mortar mix proportions.According to the mix proportions of mortar,the shear test was carried out on 9different working conditions.Resistance shear and slip performance of sliding limit displacement box are used as comprehensive performance indicators.Through experiment and theoretical analysis,the best comprehensive performance of sliding limit displacement box are label M2.5、M5 wall thickness respectively.Theoretical research and case analysis are carried out for the layout scheme of the sliding limit displacement box,and a simple design process for the layout scheme of the sliding limit displacement box is summarized.2.The quasi-static test was carried out for a wall without isolation measures,an isolated wall with a talcum powder modified mortar as isolation layer and a bound rubber beam is inserted,and built-in different conditions of sliding limit displacement box structure wall.The experimental results were compared,by analyzing respective hysteretic curves,skeleton curves,stiffness degradation curves and energy dissipation capacities.Test results show that the sliding ability ofthe isolation wall of sliding limit displacement box is better,the hysteretic curve is fuller,and energy consumption is better.In addition,sliding limit displacement box can satisfy relying on its own rigidity to resist the small earthquake,and slipping away from crack of sliding limit displacement box in middle and large earthquake.3.The application scope,material selection,construction technology,and detailing requirements of the basic sliding isolation structure building with sliding limit displacement box were analyzed.The method of designing the basic sliding isolation building with sliding limit displacement box is described,and the cost analysis of this technology is carried out.
