| Along with the vanish of rapid market growth and trends of intellectualizing,electrify,network & share in automobile industry,M&A has been key strategy for Automotive manufacturers.While unfortunately,the outcomes are always below expectation due to the failures during post-merger integration(PMI).So,it’s urgent to probe into PMI,especially in operational aspects which including the framework and methodologies for application.Meanwhile project management has been proved to be a valid method to manage complex tasks in many areas.This thesis takes ZF Asia Pacific as an example,to propose a framework for PMI project management,and demonstrate the systematic method to apply project management in PMI.The thesis is arranged as follows:Chapter one: Introduction.Briefly introduces the research background,meaning,objectives and the main content.Chapter two: Literature review.Briefly introduces PMI project management framework,key tasks and key factors which lead to success;Also,this chapter provides an overview of researches on project management application and change management in PMI.Finally,this chapter concludes with the contribution and limitation of these researches.Chapter three: ZF AP PMI case background.This chapter introduce the background of ZF and TRW M&A,includes the differences in-between and the motivations of the M&A.Then this chapter emphasis on PMI challenges faced by ZF AP.Chapter four: Focus on PMI keys tasks and outcomes.This chapter deep dive the practice of PMI project management in ZF Asia Pacific,introduce the PMI project management model,as well as other two key tasks in integration process,such as re-organizational development and change management.Finally,the thesis evaluates the effects and lessons learnt of the application of PMI project management,and conclude the shortage of the thesis propose future research area. |
