Research On Engineering Change Management For S Plant Construction Project

The engineering changes are widely existing in every running projects which are always unavoidable by the project team,they have many uncertain factors,and featured with diversified and complex inducements.unproper management on engineering changes not only can cause additional costs,but also can make the project delayed,what’s worse,they can bring more improper claims or distributes,that result is not good to all involved parties.How to manage the changes in a right way is a question for the whole project management region.this thesis quoted the S industrial project as an example,firstly investigated deeply of all changes of the project,inquired the problems and inducements for most changes,analyzed the influences by costs and timing aspects with the qualitatively and quantitatively research method,then summarized the main inducements which have high influences to the project,then pointed out the problems of the changing management through the whole project duration.secondly proposed the management methods through the phases of designing,tendering,contracting,construction,acceptance and handover.finally schemed the safeguard measures from the organizational management,cost management,relevant laws and regulation systems,authority administrative monitoring and information synergy management aspects.This thesis promoted the control methods on the engineering change management systematically through the research on the typical project,this would have a realistic and positive significance to the project parties especially of the owner side.concretely speaking,to study the management of engineering changes can help the project parties to reduce the project risks,improve the owner’s project management abilities,facilitate to realize the project goals,it would be a good practical reference to the owner side.It is also an important supplement and perfection to the engineering project management academic system which has a high theoretical value moreover it also has a great social value for the authorities to optimize the laws and regulations as well as the administrative control system.
