Research On The Design Of Toilet Facilities For Rural Elderly Under The Guidance Of User Experience

As an important means to improve life style and quality of life,design is paying more and more attention to aspects that have not been paid attention to before.With the advance of the toilet revolution,the environment of the rural toilet has been improved to some extent,but the facilities in the toilet still have more room for improvement,and the relevant design and research still need to be further deepened.In the design of rural toilets,there are still insufficient concerns for the elderly,which leads to some problems in the process of toilet use.The elderly who have lived in the countryside for a long time have formed a fixed lifestyle and habits,and their ability to accept new things is poor.In terms of toilet behavior,most of the elderly are still used to the traditional squatting posture.On the one hand,due to the growth of age,the body function is weakened,the toilet is more and more frequent,and the toilet time is also longer;On the other hand,toileting behavior belongs to the private behavior of individuals.If the elderly are assisted in toileting,their self-esteem will be hurt.Therefore,it is necessary to further strengthen the research on toilet facilities suitable for the elderly in rural areas,so as to help design toilet facilities that can improve personal dignity and life confidence,safety,comfort,self-access and good use experience for the elderly in rural areas.This study takes the rural toilet facilities as the research object,and the rural elderly as the target population,starting from the perspective of user experience.In the process of the study,the relevant theories of user experience are combed through the literature method,and the current situation of rural toilet facilities is investigated through the field investigation method.The factors influencing the toilet experience of rural elderly and the user demand of rural toilet facilities are obtained through questionnaire survey,user interview,observation and simulation.According to the research conclusion,based on the design experience of excellent similar products,four principles of safety,comfort,dignity and economy are put forward,and six design methods,i.e.the fit of behavior,the satisfaction of requirements,the rationalization of use process,the simplification of function layer,the intellectualization of technology layer and the standardization of overall configuration,and carried on the rural elderly toilet facilities design practice,so as to provide reference for related research.
