| China is confronted with two major challenge at present: low acceptance for institution for old-age care and Poor implementability of home-based care for the aged.On the one hand,due to the poor facilities and traditional "filial piety" culture in the villages and towns,the implementation of institutional old-age care has encountered great resistance.On the other hand,the elderly in rural areas increasingly rely on the material support provided by the housing conditions,while the residential buildings in rural areas are often lack of professional design,failing to meet their old-age care needs lack.Therefore,in the face of the huge stock of township housing,how to improve their existing environment,to offer full environmental support to the elderly,which is the topic selection basis for the paper.Firstly,the aging population in the villages and towns has the characteristics of feminization and empty-nest based on the basic data of the local population.The elderly are not highly educated,whose endowment concept has changed from "dependent on children " to "self-care" and tend to retire at home.Secondly,questionnaire survey is adopted to further focus on the physical and mental characteristics,behavior patterns of the elderly in towns and villages.This paper summarizes the problems of the age-appropriate space of different residential types based on the investigation of the houses.Qualitative and quantitative research is conducted to conclude hierarchy and influencing factors of the age-appropriate needs of residential space through empirical analysis with the data obtained from the survey as samples.Finally,it is concluded that the demand of age-suitability of residential space includes security,comfort and health demand,among which security demand is the first level.The factors that are significantly correlated with age-appropriate demand include age,housing pattern,family structure,self-care ability,economic self-assessment,construction age,number of residential floors,residential area and housing type.Then the model formula of age-appropriate demand for residential space is got by using stepwise regression analysis method.Then,the paper puts forward corresponding Suggestions from three aspects based on the conclusion: policy exploration,town planning and housing transformation. |
