Research On The Design Of Dementia Care Unit In The Old Community

The aging degree of the old community population is serious,and the social pension problem is increasingly prominent.Urban old communities are mostly established in the middle and late 20 th century.Nowadays,the aging of community buildings and environment has been unable to meet the needs of the elderly.Old communities are facing the problem of dual aging of population and building environment.In addition,China is the largest number of people with dementia in the world,and the incidence rate of dementia in the elderly is 1/3.At the same time,due to many restrictions,most old communities are not perfect in the development of elderly care facilities,there are many problems,such as lack of understanding of dementia,not reaching the level of professional dementia care,lack of pertinence in the functional composition and spatial design of facilities.Under the background of aging population,the number of the elderly with dementia will increase year by year.The problem of care for the elderly with dementia in the old community needs to be solved urgently.From the perspective of architecture,this paper analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the old communities in the care of the mentally retarded elderly under the background of the highly aging urban old communities.According to the literature review of dementia nursing unit at home and abroad,the theoretical study of environmental psychology and the nursing of the elderly with dementia,combined with the actual cases,the behavioral characteristics and spatial needs of the elderly with dementia admitted to the dementia nursing unit were analyzed,and the principles of the healing design of the dementia nursing unit were studied.Finally,based on the above theoretical research,taking the design of comprehensive elderly care facilities in the 101 neighborhood of Qingshan District as an example,according to the site conditions,the healing design strategy of local dementia care unit is proposed.This paper hopes to put forward a set of targeted dementia nursing unit design strategies for the current difficulties faced by the elderly,their families and nurses in nursing life,to provide some new ideas for the design and research of elderly care facilities in the old community,and also hope that this study can make the special group of the elderly with dementia get social attention.
