China’s manufacturing companies are now in a critical period of development.The past 40 years witnessed the tremendous progress of China’s economic during the Reform and Opening Up.However,the business environment has been changing recently.The environment of manufacturing enterprises has changed significantly with the development of economic globalization,knowledge economy and trade dispute.The manufacturing enterprises are facing more challenges because of new business environment.Now China’s manufacturing industry is in a critical period of transformation and upgrading,how to improve the efficiency and profit? How to improve the product quality? How to reduce the resource consumption to achieve the sustainable development? The right competition strategy will lead the company to win in competition and achieve long term goals.This paper uses case analysis,literature analysis and comparative analysis to study S company.Taking S Company as an actual case,this paper analyses how the manufacturing Hidden Champion enterprises make the decision of Focus strategy in the selection of competition strategy,and the implementation process of Focus strategy and its safeguard measures.Firstly,through sorting out and analyzing the Hidden Champion theory and related literature,competitive strategy theory and related literature,and Focus strategy theory and related literature,as well as analyzing the development status of manufacturing industry and the S company in China,through the analysis of market development and comparing the development status of competitor companies.Find out the strengths and weaknesses of S company’s current development,and choose the right competitive strategy.S company is a typical Hidden Champion enterprise in manufacturing industry.The competition strategy choice of S company can be used for the reference to other manufacturing companies.This paper chooses S company as the research object,analyses and discusses what kind of competitive strategy manufacturing companies should choose in the new economic environment.Firstly,starting from the research of relevant literature,combined with the development of manufacturing industry under the new economic environment,this paper analyzed the political environment,economic environment,social environment and technological environment of S company.Next,this paper analyses the company’s human resources,technical resources,brand resources and other core resources one by one.Combined with SWOT analysis method and Porter’s Five Forces Model,this paper analyses the company’s opportunities,threats,strengths,weaknesses and industry competitive environment.Through the analysis of S company’s overall cost leadership strategy,differentiation strategy or focus strategy one by one,it finally determines that S company should choose Focus competitive strategy.Finally,the implementation of the Focus strategy is executed from the aspects of business centralization,differentiation centralization and cost centralization.At the same time,S company ensures the effective implementation of S company’s centralization strategy by optimizing organizational structure,increasing investment in R&D innovation,strengthening human resources construction and so on.Through the research on the Focus competitive strategy of company S,this paper provides a feasible reference for Company S to choose,implement and guarantee the implantation of the Focus strategy.It also provides some ideas for other manufacture companies in China to choose the appropriate strategy at the critical moment of overcapacity,transform and upgrading.
