As the informal teaching concept continues to deepen,the inadaptability of the existing teaching space to informal learning gradually emerges.At present,the study on informal learning has arisen at home and abroad,mainly focusing on the theory,but little on the practice,of which are centered on the design of library with little consideration of actual situation of Chinese high school.Usually,the informal design research on the middle school campus space has not taken into account the actual situation of the middle school campus in China.In this context,exploring the design of informal teaching spaces in middle schools has important academic significance and theoretical value.Firstly,a field survey was conducted in typical high schools of Wuhan,including the external,internal and transitional environment of middle school teaching space.Then,through inductive sorting and summarization,the spatial characteristics are summarized from the following five aspects: size,privacy,accessibility,transformation cost,and vulnerability of the space to the informal learning space.In addition,the design goal of informal learning space is put forward according to the specific needs of four different forms of informal learning.Secondly,specific adaptability principles are proposed to address space needs and goals.Starting from the premise of improving the utilization rate of informal learning spaces,aiming at the accessibility,openness,pleasantness and linkage of traditional informal spaces,we put forward sight and traffic accessibility,open functions and forms,pleasant use and details,space and Adaptability principles such as functional linkage.Then,specific adaptive design strategies are proposed for different informal space forms and adaptive principles.A total of 21 adaptive design strategies are proposed for four different informal learning spaces in the six locations of the external environment,internal environment,and transitional environment of the teaching space in the middle school.Finally,applying the research results of the informal space adaptability design to the project the planning and teaching space design of Ping Ding Shan new high school in Henan province,and then anticipates the theoretical research as well as practical application.
