Research On The Sociability Of Wuhan’s Living Street Space Based On Actor Network Theory

As an important place for social life of residents in a city,the living streets reflect the essential meaning of public life in cities.However,the existing related researches mostly start from the correlation between the physical environment and human behavior patterns,and are limited to the subject-object binary paradigm of environmental behavior research.The social behavior occurring on the street in real life is an ever-changing diachronic process.There are multiple factors interacting with each other,and the existing relevant theories can’t explain it comprehensively.In view of this,this study is based on the empirical research of living streets in Wuhan,trying to introduce "Actor-Network-Theory(ANT)" into environmental behavior research,combining it with "Environmental Availability Theory" and make targeted reference and transformation to it,so as to construct a new research paradigm of street sociability from the perspective of micro research.At the same time,assisted by Social Network Analysis(SNA),Behavioral Mapping and other technical means,in order to propose a new street social behavior research technology route.From the perspective of a new dynamic perspective,we can re-examine the dynamic mechanism of social behavior on the street.The study constructs a multi-agent network analysis framework for street social behavior analysis by regarding social behavior as a network formed by various heterogeneous actors and regarding three types of elements involved in street social behavior as relevant actors.Through empirical research,it is analyzed and summarized that there are four different topological types of social behavior actor networks in streets,namely single-core structure,dual-core structure,chord graph structure and network structure,and the characteristics and related attributes of different types of networks are described.After a multi-dimensional comparative analysis,the core actors of different types of networks and their generation modes are summarized to explain the multiple nature and internal laws of social behavior.Based on the current situation of Wuhan city,this paper provides a unique and effective research perspective for understanding the generation mechanism of social behaviors in living streets,and makes an in-depth analysis of the influencing factors of social behaviors in streets,which has positive theoretical and practical significance for the understanding,design and management of social street space.
