The construction industry has become one of the high-risk industries due to its harsh operating environment and personnel concentration. How to reduce production safety accidents is a key issue that needs to be urgently addressed today.A large number of studies have shown that about 80% of accidents are caused by unsafe behaviors of humans, and based on risk decision theory, human unsafe behaviors are the result of unsafe risk decisions.Risk decision-making,as a process that needs to dispatch a large number of cognitive resources for processing,is likely to cause cognitive biases due to the "boundary rationality" of decision makers.Studies on cognitive biases of construction workers have focused on representative biases and availability Bias, etc.,but there is little research on the cognitive bias of framing effect. The cognitive ability of decision makers refers to the ability to analyze and judge decision information, and the root cause of the framing effect is the cognitive bias caused by the decision makers’ incomplete understanding of decision information.Construction workers have a relatively low level of cognition of risks due to their low level of education.Under the background of such personal factors of decision makers, studying the influence of construction workers ’cognitive ability on framing effect can more comprehensively study construction workers’ risk decision-making from a cognitive perspective.Based on the above theoretical foundation and practical situation,by drawing on the more mature research methods of the predecessors,a questionnaire for this research was formed, with the construction workers’ cognitive ability, framing attributes, and the background of decision issues as independent variables, and the workers’ decision results as dependent variables conduct the empirical research. The main work of the thesis includes:(1)through literature review to determine the current status of construction workers’ risk decision-making and frame effect research;(2)verification of the existence of frame effects of workers in risk decision-making situations;(3)study of decision-making background and recognition The influence of knowledge ability on the framework effect of workers;(4)Proposed measures for risk management of construction workers. The following conclusions were obtained:(1)highly cognitive workers did not show framing effects in life issues and duration issues;(2)low cognitive workers show different forms of framing effects in life and duration issues;(3)low cognitive workers show a one-way framing effect that favors risk in life problems;(4)low cognitive workers show the classic framing effect in the construction period problem;(5)The construction workers’ cognitive ability and the decision problem background have an interactive influence on the framing effect.Based on behavioral decision-making and cognitive psychology, this study studied the influence of construction workers’ cognitive ability and background of decision-making problems on the framing effect. At the theoretical level, from the perspective of cognition, the impact of differences in construction workers ’cognitive abilities on framing effects is explored, which enriches the study of construction workers’ risk decision-making mechanism. In addition,it expands the research context of framing effects and enriches the study of framing effects. At the practical level, this study will help workers recognize the framing effect, avoid the framing effect as much as possible in the risk decision-making process, and improve decision-making ability;in addition, for managers,it is proposed to establish a sound and more complete safety training system and enhance the personalization of training and other measures, and provides suggestions for reducing the unsafe behavior of construction workers.
