The Professional Accreditation of Engineering Education originated from western countries and has become an international quality assurance system for Engineering Education.As an important content in "Quality of Education for Undergraduate Students in Relation to Educational Reform Project Construction",it has become the focus of government,social and schools concern.The paper adopts the qualitative research method to discusses the implementation status of Professional Accreditation of Engineering Education from the perspective of engineering teachers in A university.It conducts semi-structured interviews or focus group interviews with 11 teachers who have accreditation experience,draws on the idea of grounded theory and encodes the interview materials with the help of Nvivo12,and analyzes the implementation of engineering education certification in A University from four dimensions:teachers’ understanding of the accreditation,the implementation process of the accreditation,the positive impact of the accreditation and the difficulties of accreditation.According to the research findings,the current implementation of the Professional Accreditation of Engineering Education in A university is as follows:Firstly,teachers generally have a positive attitude towards the accreditation,but there are some problems such as heavy concept of task and unclear recognition of the value of the accreditation.Secondly,during the accreditation process,A University had a clear division of labor and hierarchy.It has formulated guarantee measures such as training,incentives,supervision and feedback.However,there are still some problems such as insufficient overall planning,homogenization of talent cultivation,incomplete capability evaluation system,insufficient participation of external forces and lacking of continuous improvement in the later period of accreditation.Thirdly,the implementation of the accreditation has changed the teachers’ educational concept and played a role in standardizing management,teaching and curriculum.Fourth,Professional Accreditation is mainly faced with imperfect accreditation design,large workload,poor understanding of standards,scientific research evaluation guidance and other difficulties.In view of the current situation,the author proposes six improvement measures:unblocking communication channels to understand the connotation of accreditation;combining with new technology to simplify the accreditation work;promoting multilateral cooperation to improve certification participation;establishing incentive mechanism to stimulate the vitality of accreditation;strengthening accreditation supervision to promote the implementation of accreditation.
