Transformation And Practice:Narrative Discourse And Rhetorical Method Of Liu Jiakun

In view of how China’s contemporary local architecture practice responds to postmodernist architectural trends,how to propose architectural strategies to adapt to the relatively backward economy and relatively insufficient construction level in the central and western regions,the thesis takes Liu Jiakun’s literary and architecture creations as the research objects,as well as the narrative Discourse and rhetorical methods are studied.Liu Jiakun is a representative of contemporary Chinese architecture practice and has the dual identity as architects and writers.Therefore,the thesis tries to break away from the research methods of the architectural subject ontology to interpret its architectural creation,comprehensively analyze the theories,methods and achievements of literature and architectural creation,and analyze the narrative discourse and rhetorical methods as a whole.The research is divided into three parts: First,the thesis collects,organizes and summarizes the context and representative works of Liu Jiakun’s literary creation and architectural creation,and combines with field practice to find interdisciplinary intersections of narrative discourse and rhetorical methods.Secondly,the thesis The three kinds of transformations are studied separately: from writing techniques to the transformation of architectural rhetoric methods,from text structure-temporal relationship to architectural space operation and time transformation,from philosophical thinking to architectural strategy.At the same time,the thesis pays attention to the composite effect of personal experience,postmodernism and realistic factors in transformation.Finally,the thesis analyzes the application and influence of narrative discourse and rhetorical methods in architectural creation: the expression of architectural writing on architectural concept,and the regionality of Liu Jiakun Material system and construction logic,Liu Jiakun’s intervention planning and giant social strategy.The thesis aims to provide examples of China’s local characteristics for the interdisciplinary transformation,pluralistic development and regional practice of postmodernist architectural theory,and to summarize the reference architectural strategies for the central and western regions with relatively backward economic development and relatively insufficient construction level.In this way,research should be based on the urgent need for local practice and the requirements of the architect’s social value orientation.
