In recent years,China’s highway industry and transportation industry have developed rapidly, and automobiles have become closely related to our work and life. These have brought social progress, economic growth, and convenience of life, but at the same time, they will also cause corresponding harm.Studies have shown that asphalt pavement can cause different degrees of damage such as ruts and cracks with the increase of service time, especially for highgrade highways with heavy traffic and many heavy-duty trucks.Relevant data show that the lateral distribution of wheel tracks is an indispensable indicator in road traffic safety and roadbed pavement design, and there are many influencing factors on the lateral distribution of wheel tracks. This study mainly focuses on road plane alignment, visibility, and driver fatigue.Starting with these three aspects of driving, taking the National Asphalt Laboratory NCAT runway as an example, the in-depth exploration of the influence of these three factors on the lateral distribution of wheel tracks is investigated. At present, there is a lack of research on the horizontal distribution of wheel tracks at home and abroad.Based on actual measured data, this project quantitatively evaluates its influencing factors based on the overall aspects of the human-vehicle-road-environment system, which has great application value and innovation.significance.The content of this article is as follows:First, based on the research in related fields at home and abroad, the main research content, research characteristics and innovations of this article are explained. Then, the lateral distribution of wheel tracks is expanded, and the lateral distribution of wheel tracks and their related theoretical basis and measurement methods are outlined. At the same time, the experimental basis of this project is introduced to provide a reference for the smooth progress of the experiment.Secondly, the test site, test equipment and test plan were determined. The project is located in the NCAT test loop of the National Asphalt Experiment Center in the United States.20 road sections(including straight sections and curved sections)were selected for field measurements, and 13217 truck wheel track lateral distribution data were collected and processed. At the sametime,a preliminary introduction of experimental equipment and its working principle was made. The feasibility of the test was proved by the successful measurement of the horizontal distribution of wheel tracks on actual roads using the same test equipment and test methods in the past. Finally, after the corresponding visual analysis and regression analysis of the data, the existing rules were found, and the lateral distribution of wheel tracks under different influencing factors was obtained, that is,the road plane alignment, visibility, and driver fatigue driving. The relationship between the two factors and the lateral distribution of the wheel tracks, whether there is a substantial impact and the characteristics of the impact. The conclusions show that the vehicle’s lateral distribution of the wheel track is usually larger than that of the straight line when driving on a curved section. The standard deviation of the straight section is between 8.35 in.And 11.96 in.The standard deviation of the curved section is between 11.66 in.And 19.65 in.The maximum rate can reach as high as 135.3%;in terms of visibility, the standard deviation during the day is generally 1.76 inches greater than the night;the driver ’s fatigue driving will affect the horizontal distribution of the wheel tracks, and the standard deviation of the horizontal distribution of the wheel tracks will increase as driving time increases Becomes larger, and the change is in line with the development trend of cubic functions. The test results of this project have opened up innovation points in the field that have not yet been noticed, and provided new ideas for the study of the lateral distribution of wheel tracks on asphalt pavements.
