With the rapid growth of motor vehicles, the complicated traffic environment has greatly increased the driver’s workload. At the same time, lots of factors lead to aggressive driving behavior, such as traffic jams, complex traffic environment and increasing pressure from life and work.In reality, most drivers deny that they have had aggressive driving behavior, which means the bias existing between driver’s perception and actual situation.Perceptual bias of aggressive driving behavior has brought negative impacts on road traffic safety. Therefore,it is meaningful to explore the factors influencing perceptual bias of aggressive driving behavior and provide corresponding intervention measures for improving the accuracy of drivers’ perception.Firstly, this paper designs a questionnaire, which includes the driver’s socioeconomic characteristics, personalities, driver’s penalty points, feelings towards the external environment, and the revised DAX questionnaire. With the help of Nanjing Traffic Management Bureau Bureau,a total of 690 valid driver samples were obtained from the drivers retraining course at the transportation bureau in Nanjing by questionnaire survey.Self-assessment on aggressive driving behavior and penalty point record at the transportation bureau are considered as subjective data and objective data, respectively. To compare with subjective data,a Gaussian mixture model(GMM)is introduced to cluster objective data into different aggressive levels. On the basis of perceptual bias,a binary logistic model was adopted to explore how factors affect drivers’ perceptual bias of aggressive driving behavior. It can be found from experiment results that three factors have the most significantly important impact on drivers’ perceptual bias of aggressive driving behavior significantly. They are vehicle type, personality characteristics, and external environment(work, road, and vehicle). These findings are potentially helpful for the introduction of targeted countermeasures to reduce the traffic accidents caused by perceptual bias. Then, the data of 10 Didi drivers was collected under naturalistic condition by field experiment.and the same questionnaire as above was collected after the experiment. Then, the filed data are preprocessed, and the data of the driver’s aggressive driving behavior are screened.Five common factors reflecting the aggressive driving behavior state are obtained by the principal component analysis which is used to reduce dimensions of the indexes. To compared with the DAX scale results, the five common factors are clustered into three categories as objective evaluation.According to the questionnaire data of 10 drivers and the above research results, the influencing factors of perceptual bias of aggressive driving behavior were verified and analyzed. The results show that the driver’s extroversion personality, job satisfaction and road satisfaction do have previous influence on the perceptual bias of aggressive driving behavior. Finally, according to the above analysis and verification, the targeted rectification measures on perceptual bias of aggressive driving behavior are put forward from the perspectives of drivers and the government.
