The secondary vocational education’s central idea is emphasizing the cultivation of students’ practical skills,the modern apprenticeship is a kind of talent training mode for vocational education which is based on this concept and learned from the successful experience of foreign vocational education and combined with the reality of vocational education in China.In recent years,with the gradual expansion of the construction scale,China’s construction industry has developed rapidly,and the output value of the construction industry has shown an upward trend,which has become a major industry driving China’s national economy.The construction engineering construction specialty of secondary vocational schools is a specialty opened to cultivate high-quality skilled personnel in the construction industry,the implementation of the modern apprenticeship system in construction engineering construction specialty plays a key positive role in improving the quality of talents in China’s construction industry,which is not only the need of China’s secondary vocational education,but also the need for China’s economic development.But at present,the development of modern apprenticeship in China is still immature.In the process of implementing modern apprenticeship in construction engineering specialty,there are still problems needs to be solved,such as the incomplete curriculum system and unreasonable teaching mode,etc.Based on the research of the relevant literature and the existing research results,this article conducts a field survey and analysis the present situation of implementing modern apprenticeship in construction engineering specialty in a pilot vocational school in Guiyang.The research results show that after the implementation of the modern apprenticeship system in the construction engineering specialty of secondary vocational schools,it has achieved certain results in improving the modern apprenticeship and professional identity,solving the “labor difficulties” in construction enterprises,and improving the professional operation skills of students.However,there are still some problems with students,such as lacking the cognition of the specialty that they majored in,the unspecific content of the professional talent training plan,imperfect curriculum structure and teaching evaluation mechanism,unreasonable teaching methods and models,inadequate construction investment of training base and professional teacher team,etc,which is caused by relevant government departments’ propaganda is not enough,the school lacks market research on the construction industry,and the companies cannot determine their interest protection.To solve the above problems,it is necessary to improve the practical skills of vocational students as the core goal.Proposing targeted improvement strategies combined with the characteristics of the construction engineering specialty,including improving the understanding of the construction engineering specialty and the attractiveness and norms of modern apprenticeships,standardizing professional talent training plan,clarifying the curriculum goals of the building engineering construction specialty,making course content closely match the demand of construction enterprises,constructing a reasonable and modular course system,innovating a "work-study" teaching mode,strengthening the construction of training bases,and encouraging teachers to practice business,introducing outstanding talents from all walks of life to the teaching team,establishing modern apprenticeship mentor standards,and improving teaching evaluation mechanisms.
