| The servitization in manufacturing industry has increasingly attracted attention and concern in the theoretical and practical field.As servitization becomes the key behavior for the successful transformation of manufacturing enterprises,the transformation is faced with a large number of innovative activities and capacity accumulation.The structure and capabilities of the organization usually need to be adapted and updated with the continuous development of servitization.Although there are many successful cases of servization,the manufacturing enterprises which are undergoing servitization is still facing the weakness of "technical capability-service capability" in our country.On the one hand,manufacturing companies need to continuously strengthen their own technology to maintain core competitiveness.On the one hand,resources and capabilities of service business has great conflicts and challenges for manufacturing companies.The development of service business is itself a exploration behavior for manufacturing companies.Therefore,research and analysis of the ambidextrous innovation behavior between technology and service in the process of servitization,which guides manufacturing enterprises to choose service transformation path,that has become a realistic problem that needs to be studied.At the same time,it can provide a certain reference for manufacturing enterprises to transform succseefully.Current researches focuse on the antecedents and results of servitization,and whether the results of servitization can bring optimized financial performance and sustained competitive advantage to manufacturing companies.But servicization is not a business transformation.The most critical factor is the core of the manufacturing enterprise,that is,the supporting role of technological innovation for service innovation.At the same time,the existing research on ambidextrous behavior in the context of manufacturing servitization pays more attention to the result of the organization’s ambidextrous activities on performance,but it cannot give a lot of attention to the ambidextrous innovation process in the stage of manufacturing companies.Based on this,this article focuses on the process of servitization of manufacturing enterprises,and constructs different transformation paths of servitization based on the ambidextrous theory.Based on the literature review of domestic and foreign manufacturing services,technical capabilities and service capabilities,and ambidextrous theory,the paper construct a ambidextrous capability framework in the technology-service field,and creat a framework of servitization process.Based on this,this paper takes Hangyang and Hangzhou Turbine as the research objects,analyzes the transformation paths of the two manufacturing companies,and draws the conclusions of this paper:(1)Based on the ambidextrous capability framework,the transformation of servitization companies can be divided into two paths: the technological lever path and the service lever path;(2)Servitization is a combination sequential ambidexterity and balancing ambidexterity;(3)Servitization is a process of technical capabilities and service capabilities develop together and promote each other,and finally achieve a common spiral upward;(4)The servitization companies should combine its own technical capabilities and market conditions to make a clear service path selection.The theoretical contributions of this article are:(1)Introducing the concept of ambidexterity in the context of manufacturing servitization;(2)Summarize the transformation paths of servitization and explore the ambidextrous balance capabilities to each transformation path and the driving factors of different paths;(3)This article regards the process of manufacturing enterprise service transformation as the mutual influence of technological innovation and service innovation. |
