This paper focuses on the elderly’s demand for rail transit travel and adaptive design strategy for the old of transfer path and key nodes around city rail transit station.Main research object of this article is the elderly who travelling by rail and path and nodes space of rail transit station corresponding to their travel behavior.Focusing on the "inbound,transfer and outbound" travel routes of the elderly,this paper aims at the practical problems of the weak matching of the elderly’s rail transit travel behavior and the space around city rail transit station,to explore the aging strategy for rail transit transfer path and key nodes,so as to provide reference for optimization of rail transit station design.The topic is based on the following background: aging is a severe trend in China’s population development,and the rapid growth of aging population will bring about a significant impact on social development.The rapid development of urban public traffic kept expanding the scope of activities of old people,so more and more old people choose to take rail transit to participate in urban public activities.However,the existing rail transit station design is still under the thinking of serving non-elderly group’s,some hardware facilities and the corresponding service are not fully ready to cope with the elderly’s demand.Therefore,as an important carrier for the elderly to travel long distances in cities,it is in urgent need of relevant research on aging design strategy.This article takes "background research","object analysis","status analysis","strategy construction" and "summary outlook" as research clues.The first chapter is the background research-population aging,development trend of rail transit network construction,status of rail transit construction and establishing Influenced urban realm for the elderly around city rail transit station.Based on the research status of related issues at home and abroad,this chapter expounds the background,purpose,significance and research content of the topic.The second chapter is the object analysis-focusing on the physiological and psychological characteristics of the elderly,constructing the mechanism of transportation demand and environmental impact of the elderly,and establishing the hierarchy of rail transit transportation demand of the elderly.In chapters three and four analyze the status quo-chapter three sorts out the spatial elements and key node Spaces in the route of "inbound-transfer-outbound",and corresponds the spatial elements with the travel characteristics and needs of the elderly.In the fourth chapter,through the field investigation and experimental study of the elderly in rail transit station,the specific problem of the rail transit space is obtained,which provides the basis for the strategy.The fifth chapter is the construction of strategy-Six goals of aging adaptability of rail transit are constructed,and the adaptive design strategy for the old is proposed for path and key node space respectively.
