Research On The Choice Of Intercity Travel Modes Under Different Travel Distances

The rapid development of the urban economy has made the links between cities closer.Intercity travel,as an important part of urban external traffic,is playing an increasingly important role in urban traffic.With the continuous upgrading of the inter-city infrastructure,it is difficult for short-distance travelers to meet the requirements of travelers,and the demand for inter-city travel is increasing,and the requirements for travel quality have gradually increased.Therefore,on this basis,this paper divides the inter-city trip into two types of travel modes: long-distance travel and short-and medium-distance travel.It investigates the mechanism of inter-city travel intention selection under different factors.On the basis of summarizing the influencing factors of intercity travel choice intentions,this paper uses questionnaires to quantify factors such as individual social attributes,travel characteristic attributes,and transportation mode service characteristics.On the basis of previous personal attributes,travel purpose,and travel time,connection attributes such as connection time and connection cost were added,while potential variables such as reliability,comfort,convenience,and economy were also incorporated.This can better explain the mechanism of travel choices.On the other hand,based on the theory of maximum utility and behavioral decision theory,a structural equation model and an integrated model of SEM-Logit for the five travel modes of high-speed rail,ordinary trains,airplanes,coaches,and private cars were established.The relationship between different latent variables is analyzed,and the fitting results of the measurement model are integrated into multiple logit models based on utility theory to further explore the impact of different factors on travel choices.The research results show that the SEM-Logit model with latent variables is improved by improving the traditional multiple logit models,and the research on intercity travel choice intention is more thorough and detailed.At the same time,it shows that travelers are not only the result of some single factors in the process of intercity travel decision-making,but many cross-influencing factors also have important influence on travel decision-making.
