The construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is a major national strategy.China Southern Power Grid Corporation will do its utmost to help the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area build a vibrant world-class city cluster.As a hub substation,500kV substations and transmission lines are currently the most important cross-regional power transmission solutions.They form an important power grid skeleton with other regional hub substations and main transmission lines,and are an important guarantee for safe and reliable operation of the power grid.In order to serve the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area,fully meet the demand for electricity,and better support Guangdong’s "four in the forefront of the country",strive to ensure safety,strengthen the grid,stabilize operations,provide excellent services,promote transformation,and optimize operations In areas such as business environment,the Meizhou mountainous area in Guangdong Province,where the power grid is weak,urgently needs to pass higher voltage substations and supporting transmission line construction to improve and optimize the grid structure,solve the risk of major power accidents,and improve the reliability of power supply.In recent years,China Southern Power Grid Co.,Ltd.and Guangdong Power Grid Co.,Ltd.have attached great importance to the mid-and long-term planning of the power grid and the rolling revision of the annual plan,strengthening the forward-looking and leading role of power grid planning.In view of the above-mentioned company’s requirements for grid planning and development opportunities,this paper studies the feasibility of the construction of 500kV substations in the mountainous area of Meizhou,Guangdong under the new situation.This article first analyzes the current status of the power system in Guangdong Province and Meizhou,points out the problems in the power grid,predicts the power demand in Guangdong and Meizhou,and further conducts power planning and power balance analysis for Guangdong and Meizhou.Determine the necessity of the construction of the 500kV substation project in the mountainous area of Meizhou,Guangdong and the status and role of the project in the system under the new situation.Secondly,the new system of 500kV substations in the Meizhou mountain area of Guangdong under the new situation is studied,and the location and routing of the planning are selected.A variety of access systems and planning schemes are compared and analyzed.The research done in this article has practical engineering guidance significance and is conducive to further serving the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
