The reliability of power network transmission is an important index to evaluate the power supply level of power network in power industry.As a transmission network which is directly oriented to consumers,distribution network has always been an important research object in the power industry.The determination of the fault location and the restoration of the non fault area are always the important research directions of the distribution network.This paper will focus on the research of distribution network fault location.The traditional fault location matrix method is based on the network description matrix and fault current matrix.When the distribution network topology is complex,the dimensions of the two matrices will increase,which makes the calculation speed slow down.At the same time,the traditional matrix method may miss and misjudge in some complex fault situations.Aiming at the problem of high latitude of network description matrix and fault current matrix of traditional fault location matrix method,which can’t be applied to complex fault,this paper proposes a fault location method that describes network topology with "level section" correlation matrix.This method is based on graph theory and breadth first search algorithm to generate network "level section" correlation matrix.Fault current vector is generated by fault current information uploaded to control center by feeder terminal when fault occurs,which can effectively reduce the dimension of network description matrix and fault current vector.At the same time,aiming at the deficiency of traditional matrix method in dealing with complex fault,this paper proposes an analysis method of fault judgment vector,which expands the application scope of this method in complex distribution network fault.In order to verify the calculation speed advantage and the applicability of the method in the case of complex faults,this paper analyzes the fault examples of single power supply network and multi power supply network,and proves that the method is feasible and effective to reduce the dimension network of network description matrix and fault current matrix,and the calculation efficiency is high.It is proved that the method can be applied to all kinds of complex fault cases by analyzing the examples of the faults at the end of the line and the multiple faults in the line.Compared with the traditional matrix method in the same fault model,this method optimizes the complexity of the network description matrix,simplifies the steps of calculating the fault judgment matrix,and improves the speed of analyzing the fault location.
