The South China Sea is located in an extremely hot and humid climate zone.The high temperature,high humidity,high salinity,and strong solar radiation all year round cause large air conditioners energy consumption.The continuous development and construction of islands and the lack of energy have prompted buildings to use passive strategies to reduce energy consumption.At present,there are no standard for building energy efficiency and building thermal in this climate zone.Based on a passive strategy,this paper seeks a building shape design method that not only meets the indoor thermal comfort requirements of the human body but also saves energy consumption in building operation.Through the study of the meteorological data of islands in South China,The climate elements of air temperature and humidity,wind,solar radiation,natural light intensity were analyzed.The climatic characteristics of high temperature,high humidity,strong solar radiation and strong wind were summarized in data comparison form.At the same time,The attribution of thermal zone and light-climatic zone were study in extreme hot and humid climate zone.Based on the characteristics of extreme hot and humid climates,passive strategies that benefit to building energy saving were proposed—natural ventilation,natural lighting,and solar radiation protection.The potential of these passive strategies was evaluated.Further more,energy-saving detail building shapes were proposed,including plane shapes,plane dimensions,building heights,roof forms,atrium and patio.Then,using the method of simulation analysis,the plane form,plane size and vertical size of the building are analyzed in case to calculate the relative optimal solution.According the reserch results,providing reference and basis for the passive building shape design strategy in extreme hot and humid climate areas was expected.Finally,in the form of comprehensive design of an case,the method of energy-saving building shape generation adapted to extreme hot and humid climate zones under multiple fields was explored.This article is the first study on the shape of energy-saving buildings in extreme hot and humid climate zone.
