The railway is the national transportation infrastructure, plays an important role in the development of the national economy, and is the backbone of the transportation system.China’s railway planning and construction are at a critical stage of rapid development. The railway network in the developed regions of eastern China tends to be saturated, and the center of railway planning gradually shifts to the western and southern mountains.Mountain railway construction faces many challenges, such as scattered economic bases, geological disasters, dense environmental protection resource areas, high construction costs, and large regional accessibility differences. In the feasibility study(pre-feasibility study)stage of railway planning, the choice of the direction of the railway line is the overall and key work of this stage of research. In this paper, from the perspective of mountain railway line program evaluation, focusing on the feasibility study(pre-feasibility study)stage of mountain railway route selection strategy and optimal direction plan to carry out research. This paper uses ArcGIS software to obtain the optimal multi-factor weighted direction plan, and realize the practical application of the line selection strategy.First of all, through a comprehensive analysis of various factors that affect the decisionmaking of railway route in mountainous areas, this paper extracts various indicators related to it.This paper studies the principles and methods of the index system, completes the index selection through correlation analysis between the indexes, and studies a mountain railway line selection index system that includes 5 types of influencing factors and 23 specific indexes. The index system covers the railway route selection and its related fields, and it can provide a theoretical basis for the study of railway direction.Secondly, this paper analyzes the relationship between the terrain of China and the distribution of mountain railways, and divides mountain railways into three categories according to the terrain of China.Drawing on the experience of experts in the field of railway lines, the analytic hierarchy process is used to determine the subjective weights of indicators.According to the alternatives of the existing mountain railways, the fuzzy entropy weight method is used to determine the objective weight of the index. In this paper, the minimum squared deviation method is used to determine the index combination weight.By calculating the typical schemes of three types of mountain railways, three weight combinations are obtained. This paper summarizes the identity and difference of the weight values to get the route selection strategy, and applies the combined weight to the railway line plan selection research.Thirdly, this article builds a spatial geographic information database based on ArcGIS through extensive data collection. The data range covers population, economy, ecological environment, topography, geology, hydrometeorology, transportation, resources, etc. The various types of basic data obtained are extracted, analyzed, stored, and used to form the ArcGIS spatial geographic information database. The data is processed by using the weighted information method and the potential model in Arc Map software. Then, through normalization and re-classification,the division raster data of each index is obtained. Finally, this paper uses the mountain railway weighting strategy to superimpose the raster data of each index division to form a comprehensive multi-factor division map.Taking the comprehensive zoning map as the cost grid, this paper uses Arc Map cost distance tool and cost path tool to achieve mass production of mountain railway line path.Compared with the actual existing railway graphic design plan, the model coefficients and index threshold parameters are further optimized to realize the application and promotion of the research method.
