At present,the research on Education Buildings in the modern society of China is mainly from two perspectives.One is from the perspective of social education centers,libraries and museums that pays more attention to the specific implementation methods and effects of social educational activities;the second is from the perspective of architecture,which pays more attention to the constructional process and the design of key cases.This thesis attempts to integrate two aspects of the research,summarizing the development of social education architecture and the changes in the concept of social education buildings during this process.The first chapter is a summary,combing out the historical context of modern social education building in Nanjing on the basis of the main part.The main parts of the paper reside in chapters two,three,and four,which are mainly based on the practical characteristics of education buildings in modern Nanjing;these include the public education center,library and museum building facilities as the center of narration.At the same time,in order to avoid the restriction of modern architecture,a complete investigation from lectures,book circulation,and tour for a complete inspection are conducted.The inspection identifies the development of modern social education as a background,and modern social education architecture under the perspective of Nanjing as the skeleton,the founder,designers and users of social education construction and building events for content.In terms of research methods,the paper claims the understanding of the cognition and use of the museum from the perspective of modern social educators,summarizes the brief history of architecture,collates the historical drawings and briefly analyzes the architectural performance based on the particularity of practice cases.From the perspective of architecture,the paper sorts out and outlines the development context of modern social education architecture in Nanjing from its initial creation,development to transformation,and further interprets its unique cultural significance and value to expand the breadth and depth of modern architectural history and theoretical research.
