Research On The Application Of Civil 3D And Dynamo In Road Design

After the concept of BIM(Building Information Modeling)was introduced,it has been rapidly spread and developed worldwide.It provides new energy for the improvement of design efficiency and quality in the engineering design industry.BIM technology is widely used in architecture and landscape bridges design.There are many practical cases that combine BIM technology with visual programming.The visual programming associated with the BIM technology platform can be used as a secondary development method to make up for the lack of function of the BIM technology design software,or as a carrier of parametric design to achieve design and modeling functions.At present,there are no research and application cases combining visual programming and road BIM at home and abroad.This thesis explores the application of BIM technology and visual programming in road design and modeling.The origin and evolution of the concept of BIM technology is introduced.Characteristics of BIM technology are analyzed.BIM software are compared and analyzed.Civil 3D is selected as the research object.The advantages and disadvantages of current BIM technology and CAD technology in road design and modeling are compared and analyzed.It is pointed out that some shortcomings in BIM technology can be improved by visual programming.Visual programming software are compared and analyzed.And then,the visual programming software Dynamo for Civil 3D is selected as the research object.The application of visual programming combined with BIM technology is studied and some node programs are written and put into use that can be used in road modeling,road design and design data management.Based on practices and experience,the workflow and the node program design method of Dynamo are summarized.Advantages and problems of using Dynamo for Civil 3D in road design and modeling are summarized.The Provincial Highway 340 project is taken as an example,using Civil 3D and Dynamo for Civil 3D in its process of design and modeling.And through this project,the availability of some node programs written by Dynamo for Civil 3D are verified.
