Government reports in recent years have continuously proposed “promote innovation and development and cultivate innovation momentum”.This year’s 14 th Five-Year Plan and2035 long-term plan further proposed to build large-scale international science and technology innovation center,comprehensive national science center and regional scientific and technological innovation,improve the high-tech development zone of provinces and cities,innovation ability and independent innovation demonstration zone.The implementation of national innovation strategy is inseparable from creative individual,which is the carrier of technological innovation.Existing studies also mostly focus on how to promote the positive side of individual creativity,such as improving the innovation performance of enterprises.However,at present,many scholars have found that creativity brings a lot of negative effects on individuals,such as excessive pursuit of creativity,which will damage the health of employees,affect the interpersonal relationship of employees,damage task performance and so on.Therefore,attention should be paid to how to stimulate creative employees’ innovative behaviors,and at the same time to reduce the negative behaviors of creative employees,especially deviant behaviors,so as to help employees grow and progress.In the past,a large number of scholars have explored the influencing factors of creativity,but there are few studies on the negative effects of creativity in organizations.Therefore,this study not only studies the positive and negative effects of creativity on individuals in organizations.Considering the differences of individual moral qualities,this paper takes Machiavellianism and moral identity as boundary conditions to explore how these two moral characteristics moderate the influence of creativity on individual behavior outcomes.In addition,the individual will results in the process of creativity into behavior,may encounter in the organization of existing rules and regulations to prevent,therefore,for the benefit of the organization or individual,individual needs by breaking the rules and regulations as a middle bridge,which I personally rule breaking efficiency and organization rule breaking efficiency play a role of intermediary between creativity and the result of individual behavior.Based on the subjective normative perspective of the theory of planned behavior,this study investigated the sample data of 510 employees in architectural design and consulting enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta region.The findings are as follows:(1)Machiavellianism moderates the positive effect of creativity on deviant behavior;(2)Machiavellianism moderates the positive effect of creativity on innovation behavior;(3)moral identity moderates the positive effect of creativity on deviant behavior;(4)Moral identity moderates the positive effect of creativity on innovative behavior;(5)the self-ego rule-breaking efficacy played a mediating role in the relationship between creativity and deviant behavior;(6)Self-rule breaking efficacy plays a mediating role between creativity and innovative behavior;(7)Pro-organizational rule-breaking efficacy played a mediating role in the relationship between creativity and deviant behavior;(8)Pro-organizational rule-breaking effectiveness plays a mediating role between creativity and innovative behavior.According to the results of empirical analysis,this study provides some management enlightenment for enterprises to view employees’ creativity correctly and encourage innovative behavior.First,enterprises should rationally understand employees’ creativity,avoid blindly advocating creativity,and guide employees’ innovation behaviors scientifically.Second,enterprises should pay attention to the cultivation of employees’ moral qualities,understand that the differences in the level of moral qualities will affect the relationship between creativity,innovative behavior and deviant behavior,and strive to promote employees’ innovative behaviors.Third,understand the importance of enterprise rules and regulations,pay attention to the enterprise rules and regulations that contradict the innovation atmosphere,timely revise the defective enterprise rules and regulations,motivate employees to implement innovative behaviors,improve the innovation level of enterprises,and gradually improve the innovation ability of the country.
