With the rapid development of the metro,major cities began to build an integrated transportation system with the metro as the backbone.Due to the high construction cost and low accessibility of the metro,only by effectively connecting with other modes of transportation such as conventional public transport can the metro function be better developed and its attraction be improved.As a large transfer station,the metro hub station is more complex in traffic function and more important in urban function.In this background,this thesis studies the choice of passenger’s connection mode in the metro hub station.Based on the survey data of the choice of passenger’s connection mode in Da Xinggong metro station,this thesis analyzes the connection characteristics of metro passengers,studies the choice of passenger’s connection mode and passenger’s market segmentation,and provides suggestions for passengers in different market segments.Firstly,the thesis analyzes the characteristics of the metro hub station,the connection process of passengers and the characteristics of different connection modes,expounds the factors that affect the selection of connecting ways from two aspects of macro and micro factors.Secondly,the thesis uses the RP survey method to determine the survey plan of passenger connection mode selection in the metro station and designs the questionnaire by analyzing the influencing factors.The questionnaire mainly includes basic personal information,travel information and connection information.According to the investigation plan,this thesis conducts a field investigation on Da Xinggong metro station in Nanjing and makes a statistical analysis on the investigation data from three aspects: traveler’s personal attribute,the travel characteristic attribute and the connection characteristic attribute.Thirdly,the thesis selects the factors such as gender,age,travel purpose,number of people traveling,way of entering and leaving the station,connecting distance,connecting time and connection mode to summarize the connection mode selection characteristics of metro station passengers in all aspects,and studies the cross distribution among different influencing factors within the three attributes,as well as the impact of traveler’s personal attribute on the travel characteristics attribute,the impact of traveler’s personal attribute on the connection characteristic attribute,and the impact of travel characteristic attribute on the connection characteristic attribute.This thesis obtains the statistical correlation between the choice of metro station passenger connection mode.Then,the thesis introduces the concept of potential category analysis based on the cross analysis of metro station passenger connection mode selection.From the three aspects of traveler’s personal attribute,travel characteristic attribute and connection characteristic attribute,the thesis constructs potential category model by selecting eight factors: gender,age,travel purpose,the number of passengers,access mode,connecting distance,connecting time and connection mode.This thesis analyzes the potential categories of the metro station passenger connection mode selection and obtains the passenger segment market.Taking Da Xinggong subway station as an example,the results show that passengers can be divided into four types,namely,female long-distance travel type,male school work type,daily random travel type and old and young short-distance travel type.The classification accuracy is about 87%,and the results are good.Finally,according to the four types of passenger market segments of Da Xinggong metro station,the thesis gives some suggestions on the connection,in order to optimize the connection structure of metro station and improve travel efficiency.
