Nowadays,China’s frontier construction is developing steadily,and the urban construction of Urumqi,the capital of Xinjiang,is gaining momentum.The design case of this paper is the practical design case of residential area.According to the author’s experience of life in Urumqi and the experience of practice in the design company,the whole planning and design is carried out on the basis of investigation,practice,creation and site construction inspection.In this paper,based on the perspective of excavating Xinjiang regional culture,this paper uses the theme of "memory mark" to carry out modern landscape design,to create the core living space of residents with regional culture,such as "can swim" and "can live" spirit.This paper will discuss from the following three chapters,the first chapter according to the domestic outstanding cases and cases of regional residential research status summary,put forward creative views;The second chapter discusses the optimization scheme of environmental design and regional culture disconnection of urban residential area in Xinjiang.According to the optimization scheme proposed in this paper,a whole set of design is carried out from the analysis of the local construction department’s demand for residential area environmental planning,the surrounding history and the real environment.In the conclusion part,we emphasize the importance of the relationship between regional culture and regional climate and geographical conditions in the construction and application of contemporary urban residential environment,and combine the living habits and wisdom of the local residents with the traditional cultural experience community.
