The air turbine starter belongs to the second power system of aircraft,which needs to meet the inclusion requirements just like the aero engine.The U-shaped containment ring of air turbine starter is the main component that plays containment function.It is of great significance to study its inclusion for the safety and optimal design of the starter.From the perspective of material and structure,this paper carried out research on the following issues regarding the inclusion of containment of U-shaped ring for air turbine starter combined with experiment and numerical simulation:(1)Experimental study on quasi-static and dynamic mechanical properties of GH625 materials.The quasi-static tensile test at room temperature / high temperature,quasi-static compression test at room temperature,dynamic compression test at room temperature and dynamic tensile test were carried out on nickel-based superalloy GH625 for air turbine starter containment ring material.The mechanical properties of the material at different temperatures,different stress states and different strain rates were obtained.Combined with the experimental data and Johnson-Cook constitutive and failure model,the material model parameters of GH625 were obtained;(2)Numerical simulation study on containment performance of U-shaped containment ring.The numerical simulation analysis of cylindrical projectile impacting rectangular target and disc debris impacting the ring was carried out.The failure mode and impact resistance of GH625 material plate and ring under high speed impact were studied.Then,the containment performance of a certain air turbine starter U-shaped containment ring was evaluated by the GH625 material as the material model.And putting forward the tolerance ring structure parameter optimization of demand;(3)Study on structure parameter optimization of U-shaped containment ring.The optimization design simulation process and platform integrated with UG,Hyper Mesh and LSDYNA software were established,and the multi-parameter optimization of the containment ring structure was carried out.Firstly,the optimal Latin square experiment method is used to form the sample points of the design variables,and the results are obtained by the automatic simulation cycle calculation of the sample points.The Kriging approximate model is constructed,and the mapping relationship between the design variables,the optimization objectives and the constraints is obtained.Taking lightweight as the goal,the multi-island genetic algorithm is used to optimize the approximate model,and the new sample points are added to update the approximate model in the optimization process to improve the accuracy of the model.Finally,the optimal structural parameters of the U-ring are obtained.
