Research On The Design Of Household Appliances Based On The Concept Of Kansei Engineering

With the continuous improvement of social living standards and the change of people’s consumption concepts,small household appliances have gradually become the favored products in people’s life and office space.Due to the characteristics of small household appliances,product consumption is more impulsive and personalized,so it brings convenience to people and also causes some problems.Some enterprises and businesses fail to truly understand the psychological needs of users and blindly develop products,resulting in serious homogenization of small home appliances,and the lack of rationality in functional integration design.So how to obtain the psychological needs of consumers to guide the design and development of small home appliances is an urgent problem to be solved.Kansei Engineering is a design concept and method that translates people’s fuzzy and uncertain emotional needs and psychological needs into product elements.Through the analysis of the user’s perceptual needs to design the form of the product,material,color and other elements,the user’s perceptual needs become an important basis for product design.Therefore,based on the concept and method of Kansei Engineering,this paper explores the development process and design method of small home appliances.Firstly,this paper summarizes and analyzes the development status of the concept of Kansei Engineering at home and abroad,and at the same time expounds the concept,types and methods of Kansei Engineering.Secondly,from the perspectives of user demand and product modeling characteristics,this paper explores the change of user’s perceptual needs and the influence of product modeling characteristics on user’s perceptual needs,and preliminarily explores the common relationship between design characteristics of small household appliances and user’s perceptual images by qualitative analysis method.Then summarized the development process,design characteristics and existing problems of small home appliances in China.Finally,the concept and method of mixed Kansei Engineering are introduced into the design and development of small home appliance products,and the correlation analysis and verification of users’ perceptual image and product form design elements and color design elements are carried out by using the analysis methods of multiple linear regression and BP neural network.The perceptual vocabulary base,sample base and relevant fitting model obtained in this study can provide new experimental procedures and methods for the design and development of small household appliances,and provide theoretical reference for the design and development of other related small household appliances.
