Research On The Architectural Space Of Beijing Commune Building In The Early Period Of China

The movement of urban people’s communes spread from rural areas to cities in1958.The overall urban planning of Beijing Municipality in the same year was carried out in accordance with the thought of people’s communes and the organization of urban residential areas proposed in the planning shall be carried out in accordance with the principle of people’s commune.In this context,there are many "new urban settlements planning and design ideas and examples." The "commune building" is the urban collective residential building designed and built under this background,which is the embodiment of the urban people’s commune movement in the residential building level.The paper takes the architectural space design of Beijing Commune Building as the main research object.Firstly,it combs and restores the architectural space design of Beijing Commune Building from the aspects of site selection,spatial structure,residential unit and spatial vision,etc.And through the later field research,combined with the status of Beijing community building space,analysis of its actual use in the evolution and continuation of the building space.Based on the historical and ideological background of the restored commune building and the architectural space design of the commune building,this paper sums up the architectural theory and social thought of its architectural space design by means of comparative study and theoretical carding,and explores and summarizes its unique value.Beijing Commune Building is a demonstration building with communist ideals,which came into being in the movement of urban people’s commune.Its architectural space design is a practice of socialism in architecture.Commune building is also an important architectural heritage in Beijing’s modern architectural history,which is the condensation of architectural ideas at home and abroad and Beijing’s urban construction.The unique architectural space design of the Commune Building is also a reference case for today’s new housing design.The architectural space of Beijing Commune Building is of great value in terms of science,history,society,culture and spirit.Finally,through the analysis of the status of Beijing Community Building and the existing use plan,this paper also puts forward some strategies and suggestions for Beijing Community Building protection.
