Augmented reality technology is one of the key technologies for the intelligent transformation of traditional manufacturing.It superimposes virtual information into the real world through equipment,allowing users to obtain additional information.Augmented reality technology has great application prospects and value for the design,construction,maintenance and other processes of the ship’s entire life cycle.The application of augmented reality technology to the shipbuilding industry can promote the industrial transformation and upgrading of the shipbuilding industry and improve the intelligence level of the industry.At present,the application of augmented reality technology is mostly focused on design and construction,and there are few applications in the maintenance process.This article attempts to apply augmented reality technology to the cabin piping repair and renovation design,build an AR application that can quickly design the cabin piping,and improve the efficiency of design and maintenance personnel.In this paper,the definition and development of augmented reality technology are sorted out,and the AR glasses Holo Lens launched by Microsoft is selected as the research equipment.Meanwhile,this paper analyzes the three key technologies of Holo Lens’ augmented reality system: tracking registration technology,display technology and human-computer interaction technology,and summarizes the technical framework of an AR application.In addition,a detailed study of the real-time creation of pipe models and collision detection for the core issues in the cabin piping design is carried out.The principle of the function of creating a pipe model is based on creating a model surface mesh in the Unity3 D engine.According to this principle,this article realizes the creation of the three basic elements of the pipe and pipe bend models:points,lines,and surfaces,and finally realizes the real-time creation of pipe and pipe bend models.In view of the collision and interference problems that need to be considered when designing the cabin piping,the principle of collide detection is studied.Considering the collide detection scenarios that occur during the virtual design of the piping,this paper adopts the static interference algorithm and discrete collide detection algorithm based on the AABB bounding box.This paper analyzes the realization technology and development process of the AR application in cabin piping design.In response to the needs of the AR application,interaction design,user interface design,and functional modules are designed and implemented in the Unity3 D engine.Finally,the AR application was deployed to Holo Lens for testing and use.This paper combines augmented reality technology with cabin piping design,researches the design and realization of the AR application of cabin piping design,and finally develops a cabin piping design application based on the Holo Lens platform.This application can play a role in the design of cabin piping maintenance and renovation,helping designers and maintenance personnel to quickly carry out piping renovation and design in the real cabin environment,get rid of complicated drawings,and directly verify the manufacturability,layout,usability and maintainability of the design results.
