A Study On The Design Of Cultural And Creative Products In Mogao Grottoes Based On Narrative Dichotomy

Products are updated with the needs of the Times.While the traditional culture,which has gone through hundreds and thousands of years,is the crystallization of civilization belonging to its unique era.When we are faced with the traditional culture after thousands of years,how can we integrate it into modern life? How can we make the classical culture grow and germinate in the present society,blossom new flowers and bear new fruits?How can the new cultural achievements continue to influence the future generations over several years and become the next "traditional culture" ?This paper focuses on exploring innovative design methods of cultural and creative products,and strives to realize the aesthetic transformation from "classic" to "daily",hoping that cultural and creative product design will become a kind of life enlightenment.This thesis introduces dichotomy in narrative theory——story and discouse,studying how to design cultural and creative products from a new perspective.The fundamental purpose of this research is to inherit and innovate the fresco art of Mogao Grottoes.The author combines the theory of narrative dichotomy with the analysis of cultural and creative products,which constructs the fundamental theory frame of narrative design method of cultural and creative products.The ultimate goal is to integrate the mural art of Mogao Grottoes into modern life and to realize the transformation design from classic culture to daily use products.The last part of this thesis investigates the proposed design method through designing practice and demonstrating its feasibility.Traditional culture manifests itself as a series of stories in specific time periods,it can be presented in so many ways,using the theory of "story" and "discourse" is helpful to explore new ways,let the culture symbol characteristic performance beyond the product "appearance",but into the design of the narrative "plot" of product.Finally,I hope to realize the story-oriented and situation-oriented of the cultural and creative products,so as to stimulate diversified emotional experience and make cultural symbols continue to develop in the context of modern life.
