High-speed railway is an important part of modern integrated transportation system.The improvement of the high-speed rail network makes inter-regional traffic more convenient and closer.Also,as the most dynamic growth point in China,the new national strategy of Yangtze River Delta regional integration puts higher demands on the economic development of this region.The Transportation Power Strategy states that the role of transportation in supporting economic development should be brought into play.The Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration’s highspeed rail network is relatively mature,and the degree of economic and social development is relatively high.The impact of high-speed rail construction on its economic development will inevitably be different from other regions,and it will also have important reference significance for the other area.In this context,this article will take the construction of the high-speed rail as the research object,and the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration as the research area.It will discuss and analyze the impact of the high-speed rail construction on the economic development of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration,and put forward related suggestions.This article first introduces the current economic development of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration and the history of high-speed rail construction,and then summarizes the relevant classic theories of high-speed rail construction and regional economic development,as well as relevant domestic and foreign literature.The three aspects of economic integration analyze the effect mechanism of high-speed railway construction on regional economic development,and describe the impact of high-speed rail construction on the economic development of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration from these three aspects.Finally,according to the panel data of 26 cities in the Yangtze River Delta city group from 2009 to 2017,the empirical analysis of the role of high-speed rail construction on the economic development of the Yangtze River Delta city group was made from three aspects using the double difference model of time and individual fixed.The regional heterogeneity evaluation was carried out according to the different levels of regional economic development and provinces.The regression results show that the construction of high-speed rail has a significant positive effect on the economic growth of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration,has a positive role in optimizing and upgrading the regional industrial structure,and has a significant role in promoting regional economic integration.The economic impact of high-speed rail construction in heterogeneity assessment is different in regions with different economic levels and provinces belonging to different regions.At the end of the article,based on theoretical and empirical analysis,from the perspective of high-speed rail construction,some suggestions are made for the economic development of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration,providing an empirical reference for sustainable economic development and planning research.
